install the HotPort node safely. The HotPort is

intended to be installed by trained

professionals. Be sure to read and

understand all installation

instead and safety instructions before

proceeding with the installation.

The HotPort FT5900 contains two radios. The

number of radios that will be active is

determined by the license. Use of 802.11n

MIMO is also enabled via license and other

radio is dedicated 900MHz.

Planning Your Installation HotPort 5900 nodes are easy to install. They are mechanically compatible with existing HotPort nodes. Installing the Node Antenna Orientation Node installation is straightforward. Insert the unit in the housing. Attach the antennas. MIMO technology takes advantage of signal reflections to improve performance. Antenna orientation affects this. Firetide recommends that you begin deployment with the antennas Apply power. The power LED should illuminate immediately; after about 60 to 90 seconds the status LED should switch to steady green Depending on performance, you may wish to try other orientations.
