Hose Clamp Installation Guide Worm Gear Clamps
1. Buy the proper size clamp for the intended use and application. It is recommended to
ensure after the hose clamp is tight the tail of the hose clamp is not too long. Further
information on clamp construction and sizes for these clamps can be found at
https://www.idealtridon.com/ideal-tridon-67-4-tridon-620p.html for 1/2” band width
clamps.
2. Slide the hose clamp over the hose requiring the clamps. Insert the hose onto the fitting,
it should be a snug fit. Slide the clamp up to its desired installation location, leaving a
minimum of ¼” of hose showing between the clamp and the end of the hose.
3. Tighten the hose clamp using a screwdriver or hex head driver, being careful not to
overtighten. For best results, use a torque wrench. Torque to 35 lbf-in (4 Nm) for most
applications, minimum destructive torque is 60 lbf-in (6.8 Nm) for stainless steel screw.
