1 Control Panel Description The Control Panel consists of an RF transceiver, a micro-controller, a non-volatile memory, a power supply, a user interface, a siren, a buzzer, a tamper switch and a battery. The Control Panel is composed of the following principal parts: • Mounting plate. • Control Panel unit with keypad, display, electronic assembly, siren, speaker, microphone, 4 LEDs and battery compartment. • 6 NiCd size AA batteries.
1.1 FCC Compliance & Statements 1.1.1 FCC Part 15 Compliance Statement The FCC Wants You to Know This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
(2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. FCC Warning Modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user authority to operate the equipment under FCC Rules. Instructions concerning human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields. To comply with FCC Section 1.307 (b)(1) for human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields, implement the following instruction: A distance of at least 20cm.
1.1.2 FCC Part 68 Statements a. This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules and requirements adopted by ACTA. On the bottom of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, a product identifier in the format US: AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested this number must be provided to the telephone company. b. Facility Interface Codes (“FIC”): 02LS2. Service Order Codes (“SOC”): 9.0Y c.

2 Installation Procedure 2.1 Battery Installation Remove screw to open Control Panel battery case cover. Insert 6 NiCd AA batteries. Replace screw. 2.2 RJ31X Connector Open the RJ31X connector to reveal eight screws. Cut the main telephone cable. Connect the red strand of the main telephone cable (Net Ring) to the red wire inside the RJ31X connector. Connect the green strand of the main telephone cable (Net Tip) to the green wire inside the RJ31X connector.
Connector J7 (marked on the Control Panel PCB) is an RJ45 connector. Connect it to the system computer (if any). 2.4 Connector J9 (Terminal Block) Connect the first GND terminal to the ground for the wired zone. Connect the WIRED ZONE terminal to the wired zone. Connect the PGM-1 and PGM-2 terminals to the PGM units in the system. Connect the EARTH terminal to the earth for the PGM units in the system. Connect the 9V AC-1 and 9V AC-2 terminals to the 9V mains transformer.
3 Programming Procedure 3.1 General The functions performed by the Installer are implemented by means of the four keys at the top of the Control Panel and the numeric keypad. These functions are viewed from the Installer Menu, accessible from the Main Menu. 3.2 Installer Programming Functions To access the Main Menu, press OK at top of Control Panel when system is disarmed and opening screen is displayed.
Note: The system installation should be performed continuously. If a pause of more than the number of minutes determined for the Installer Dialog timeout (INST. DLG. T/O) in Section 3.2.2 below (default: 20 minutes) occurs, the installation will be terminated and the opening screen will again be displayed, without saving the installation data.

01: ZONE LABEL FRONT DOOR ‡ To select zone label for this zone (Note: a list of zone labels appears in the Appendix to this manual), press DOWN or UP keys at top of Control Panel until desired zone label is displayed, and then press OK at top of Control Panel. Now press ESC key at top of Control Panel twice to return to Zone Programming menu and press DOWN key to proceed to next sub-function (unless a custom label is desired for this zone).
To enable the chime function and proceed to next zone attribute, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel. To change the default from Enable to Disable, press OK at top of Control Panel (if Disable is displayed, press OK at top of panel to change to Enable) and then press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next subfunction. Screen will show: 02: BYPASS ENABLE Disable ↵ To disable the zone bypass function and proceed to next zone attribute, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel.
To determine a strobe type, press OK at top of Control Panel. The ↵ character will be replaced by ‡. Screen will show: 05: STROBE TYPE *Strobe None ‡ To select strobe type for this zone (Note: a list of strobe types appears in the Appendix to this manual), press DOWN or UP keys at top of Control Panel until desired strobe type is displayed, and then press ESC key followed by DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function.
07: INT. SIREN *Pulse A ‡ To select internal siren type for this zone (Note: a list of internal siren types appears in the Appendix to this manual), press DOWN or UP keys at top of Control Panel until desired internal siren type is displayed, and then press ESC key followed by DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function. Screen will show: 08: EXT.
10: SIREN DELAY 01 ↵ If 1 second is the correct report delay setting for this zone, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function. To change the siren delay time, press OK at top of Control Panel. The "0" in 01 will blink. Using the numeric keypad like a cellular telephone keypad, change the "0" to the desired digit. The "1" will then blink. Change the "1" to the desired digit. Now press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function.
14: REMOTE USER *MASTER ‡ To select remote user for this zone (Note: a list of remote types appears in the Appendix to this manual), press DOWN or UP keys at top of Control Panel until desired remote user is displayed, and then press OK at top of Control Panel. Now press ESC key at top of Control Panel to return to Zone Attributes menu and press DOWN key to proceed to next sub-function: Hardwired Zone. Screen will show: ZONE PROGRAMMING 4. Hardwired Zone Press OK at top of Control Panel.
To change the zone terminal setting for this zone (Note: a list of zone terminal settings appears in the Appendix to this manual), press DOWN or UP keys at top of Control Panel until desired zone terminal setting is displayed, and then press ESC key at top of Control Panel to return to Hardwired Zone menu and press DOWN key to proceed to next sub-function: Peripheral Unit Attributes. Screen will show: ZONE PROGRAMMING 5. PU Attributes Press OK at top of Control Panel.
If 1 is the correct sensor serial number for this zone, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function. To change the sensor serial number, press OK at top of Control Panel. Using the numeric keypad like a cellular telephone keypad, change the "1" to the desired sequence of digits. When the sequence is complete, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function. Screen will show: 03: SENSOR OPER.

05: EXIT ERR. 00 RECENT CLOSE 00↵ To confirm the hexadecimal codes which will indicate in the report that an exit error has been made in the installation process (an entry/exit zone is violated when the system is armed, and the system is immediately disarmed thereafter) and that a recent close event has occurred (an alarm occurs within two minutes after arming the system), press DOWN at top of Control Panel.
To change the telephone number for the download option, press OK at top of Control Panel. The "2" of 23 will blink. Using the numeric keypad like a cellular telephone keypad, change the "2" to the desired digit. Now the "3" of 23 will blink. Change the "3" to the desired digit. If necessary, add a digit or series of digits in order to complete the telephone number. Now press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function.
If 3 is the correct number of rings for the download option, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function. To change the number of rings, press OK at top of Control Panel. The "3" will blink. Using the numeric keypad like a cellular telephone keypad, change the "3" to the desired digit or series of digits. Now press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next subfunction.
On conclusion of all sub-functions (when sub-function 01 is again displayed), press ESC to return to Download Options menu. Now press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to the Enroll Zones menu. 3.2.10 Enroll Zones From the Download Options menu as shown in Section 3.2.9 above, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: INSTALLER MENU 10: ENROLL ZONES Note: Sections 3.2.10 and 3.2.
PRESS OK TO ACCEPT ZONE DATA Press OK to accept the sensor type and serial number. If the Control Panel receives no information from the sensor within a predefined time, screen will show: PU NOT FOUND Disconnect sensor from battery or mains and reconnect, and try again. If the same error message appears, replace the sensor. When zone enrollment is complete, proceed to Place Test as described below. 3.2.11 Place Test From the Enroll Zones menu as shown in Section 3.2.
If the signal level for this sensor is OK, the buzzer will sound and screen will then change to: SIGNAL LEVEL OK If the signal level for this sensor is not OK, the buzzer will not sound and screen will then change to: SIGNAL LEVEL TOO LOW Repeat Sections 3.2.10 and 3.2.11 for all zones. When zone enrollment and place test are complete, proceed to the remaining Installer Menu options listed in Section 3.2.12 below. 3.2.12 Others From the Place Test menu as shown in Section 3.2.
OTHERS MENU 2: FACTORY DEF. Use this option to review factory definitions. On conclusion of review, press ESC at top of Control Panel to return to the above screen and press DOWN key at top of Control Panel, to reach the next suboption, Diagnostics. Screen will show: OTHERS MENU 3: DIAGNOSTICS Press OK at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: TEST MENU 1. ZONE TEST Perform this test and the remaining diagnostic tests (BUZZER SOUND, SIREN SOUND, LEDS TEST, SOUND MSGS.).
To disable printing of RF info and proceed to the next debug info option, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel. To change the default from Disable to Enable, press OK at top of Control Panel (if Enable is displayed, press OK at top of panel to change to Disable) and then press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function.
