Before Use Thank you very much for purchasing this product. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use of this product. For the effective use of the questions and the collected data, please have your students always use the same clicker by associating each of your students with the unique serial number printed on the back of their clickers. Note All functions of SRS are controlled by Elmo’s Image Mate Accent for SRS.
Main functions ■Pose questions, collect responses and display the results. With SRS, you can collect responses from all students in the class by using clickers. Collected responses can be saved and displayed in graphs. The overall proficiency of the class can be assessed with multiple-choice questions. Majority Testing by Yes or No question can be easily performed. ■Utilize the collected data The collected data is automatically stored on the users computer and can be converted to standard formats.

Part Names Power button ■Clicker Turns ON / OFF the clicker. Press this button for 3 seconds or longer to turn Front OFF the clicker.〈Starting SRS〉 Power LED Indicates the battery charge status. The LED lights up when the clicker is turned on and begins flashing when the battery level is low. 〈About LED〉 Response button(1~6,T/F) Students can respond to questions using 1(A) ~6(F) and T(Y)/F(N) buttons. The last pressed button lights up or flashes for 5seconds.

Preparation Insert the batteries into the clicker Before you use the clicker, remove the battery box cover on the back of the clicker together with the fixing tape to insert the batteries. In case it is difficult to remove the cover, use the supplied screw driver to loosen the battery box cover fixing screw. Make sure to attach the cover after inserting the batteries and tighten the fixing screw. Dispose of the tape after removal.
Software installation All functions of SRS are controlled by Image Mate Accent for SRS. Install the software before initial use of the SRS. For details about the installation procedure, refer to “Before use and the following instructions:” ① Insert the supplied CD-ROM to the CD-ROM Drive of your computer. ② Select “Install Image Mate Accent for SRS” in the menu. Caution Depending on your computer, the menu may not appear automatically.
Connecting the wireless adapter Connect the supplied wireless adapter to your computer’s USB port. Launching Image Mate Accent for SRS Launch Image Mate Accent for SRS by double-clicking the shortcut icon created on the desktop of your computer. Note Image Mate Accent for SRS starts in “Document Camera Mode” when connected to select models of ELMO Document Cameras (sold Separately). Otherwise, it starts in “PC Operation Mode”.
Using SRS Operation screen of SRS Operations such as question and answer and displaying the results are performed from the SRS Window. SRS Window (Command Buttons) SRS Sub Buttons Response Sub Buttons Countdown Timer Note You can operate the Document Camera or your computer while the SRS Window is active and on display. The color of the SRS Window changes to gray (initial status), green (Testing is open) and red (Testing is closed) according to the status of SRS.
List of SRS operations List of SRS Commands Following command buttons in the SRS Window are used to pose questions or display the results. ■Command Buttons Menu button Name Start Testing Function Opens Testing. Current question type is displayed. Stop Testing Closes Testing and save the results as a file. Display Graph Displays the response results in graph. Clear Display Deletes the graph and return to the initial status. Display Response Sub Displays the Response Sub Buttons Buttons.
■Response Sub Buttons Menu button Name Change question type/ open Testing Function Changes the current setting for the question type (2-6 multiple, True (Yes)/ False (No)) and opens Testing. The changed setting for the question type remains until SRS is finished. ■Countdown Timer Menu button Name Countdown Timer Function Performs a countdown from the set time (sec.). The set time can be changed in increments of 10 sec. with [+] and [-]. Countdown starts after pressing [▷] button.
List of clicker operations These buttons are used to respond to the questions or cast a vote. Button Name Power button Description Turns ON/OFF the clicker. The power LED lights up when the clicker is turned on. Press the button for 3 seconds or more to turn off the clicker. Power LED The LED lights up when the clicker is turned on. When battery level is low, LED flashes for 5 seconds after the clicker is turned on and during the wireless connection. 1/A ~ 6/F Response Select answers.
Starting SRS SRS can be started either directly from the respective modes in Image Mate Accent for SRS or by launching the application from Program Files. Note Refer to the User’s Guide of ELMO Wireless Slate / Tablet for details about modes and operations other than SRS functions. ➊ Display the SRS Window. Press the SRS icon to display the SRS Window. SRS Window SRS icon Note If no clicker are registered to the wireless adapter, the SRS icon will not display.
➋ Turn on the clicker. Press Power button to turn on the clicker. The power LED lights up and the clicker attempts to establish the wireless connection with your computer. Note When the battery charge is low, the power LED flashes for 5 seconds. In that case, replace with new batteries. The clicker automatically enters standby status when there is no wireless communication. (Pressing any button will resume the operation.
From posing a question to close the question Pose a question using the Document camera or your computer screen. Then open Testing by selecting the Start Testing button in the SRS Window or one of “[2]~[6],[T/F]” buttons in the Response Sub Buttons. Note The entire process from starting Image Mate Accent for SRS to finishing it is called “session” and the results of each session are saved. ➊ Pose a question. Pose a question using the Document camera or your computer screen.
➌ Respond to the question by using the Response buttons on the clicker. Respond to the question by pressing the Response buttons on the clicker. Selected button flashes for max.5 seconds when sending a response and lights up for 5 seconds if the response is successfully accepted. (It flashes for another 5 seconds if the response is not accepted.) Caution If flashing Response button LED goes off in less than 10 seconds, the response is not accepted.
➍ Close Testing. Close Testing with the Stop Testing button . The color of the SRS Window changes to red. Note You can annotate on the screen using annotation functions after Testing is closed. ➎ Display the results. The overall results can be displayed in graph with the Display Graph button and the number of responses are displayed. . All choices Show a correct answer by selecting the relevant choice number. Confirm the correct answer by pressing Confirm button .
Response time is displayed. Overall results can Student numbers are displayed. If group setting be shown. is set, group symbols are also displayed. Note Response time varies depending on the wireless condition between the clicker and the wireless adapter. Use the response time as reference only. ➏ Finish the question. The graph can be deleted by pressing the Clear Display button question. The color of the SRS Window returns to gray.
Finishing SRS ➊ Turn off the clicker. When Power button of the clicker is pressed for 3 seconds or longer, the clicker is powered off and the power LED goes off. Note The clicker automatically enters standby status when there is no wireless communication. (Pressing any button will resume the operation.) After a certain period of time has elapsed in standby status, the power automatically goes off. The time to power off can be changed with <エラー! 参照元が見つかりません。>. Default setting is 180 seconds.
Group learning You can show the results by groups by grouping clickers during a session. ➊ Configure group settings. Select the Group setting button to display the Group setting window. Configure group number and group type. You can also change respective group name (group symbol). Set group number. Set group name (group symbol). Set group type.
➋ Join in a group. Join in a group by pressing one of the Response buttons on the clicker. Press one of these buttons to join in a group. Press a button with the same number as the group you intend to join in. Your student number is displayed inside group box. Now you joined in the group. Student number joined Finalize the settings. Close the window without finalizing the settings. Cancel all entries and return to default settings.
➌ Finalize the group settings. Finalize the group settings with OK button and the Setting window is closed. ➍ Ask a question and display the results. The whole process from asking a question, starting Testing, closing Testing to displaying the results is same as basic procedure. Refer to ①~⑤in ■From posing a question to close the question . ➎ Display the group results. Select the Group icon displayed in the Overall results display screen. The screen switches to the Group results display screen.
The results of each group member are displayed inside respective Group box. If all group members answered correctly, a message “Very Good!” appears. Otherwise, the percentage of members answered correctly (%) is displayed. Each time when all group members answered correctly, a prize item is awarded to such group. You can compare the number of items among groups during the session.
Giving an award In each session, you can select one student to give an award. The Award screen can be saved. ➊ Enter names of recipient and sender. Select the Award button to display the Award screen. Enter names of recipient and sender by using the drawing function. Date is displayed Pen icon automatically. Names of recipient Finalize button and sender Student number setting button ➋ Press the Student number setting button.
➌ Receive a signal from the recipient. The recipient sends a signal to the system by pressing any of the Response buttons on the clicker. Then the student number of the recipient is displayed. Press one of these buttons to response. ➍ Finalize the award. Finalize the award by pressing the “Finalize” button. Then award graphics are displayed and the screen is saved. Press the “Exit” button to close the Award screen. Award graphics are displayed after the award is finalized.
Utilizing the collected data With ELMO SRS Reporting, the collected data that is saved on your computer can be displayed or converted into a format readable on other computers. Using Result Display Software Starting the software Launch ELMO SRS Reporting from [Start]-[Program Files]-[ELMO]-[Image Mate Accent for SRS]-[ELMO SRS Reporting]. Selecting / displaying the results The entire process from starting Image Mate Accent for SRS to finishing is called a “session”.
Items to be displayed in the list of sessions: (Date・Time/Question thumbnail (1st Question)/Number of questions) Scroll Page button (15items are displayed in each page.) Calendar button Number of questions Select button Question thumbnail Uncheck “Thumbnails” to hide this screen.
➋ Display a list of questions. Select a session in the session list that you wish to view. The selected session turns blue. Press the Select button to display a list of questions in the session. Items to be displayed in the list of questions: (Date ・Time/Question thumbnail/Number of participants/Percentage of students answered correctly/Number of choices/Number of responses per choice) Percentage of students Number of choices answered correctly.
➌ Draw over the question screen. You can draw over the question screen by double-clicking a question thumbnail. 8 different pens(Black,Red,Green,Blue,Cyan,Magenta,Yellow,White) are available. Eraser button Pen buttons Undo button Note The software asks whether to save the annotations once the close button is pressed. If you select “save”, the question with added annotations overwrites the existing data. ➍ Display a report for the question.
➎ Print a report. Contents of a report can be printed. Select [PRINT] button while a report is displayed. Note The printer needs to be installed on your computer. Date・Time Question screen (Saved screen with added annotations are displayed.
Saving in other formats The collected results can be saved by session in csv/ xml and xls formats. Select [Export] from [Menu] while a list of sessions (or questions) are displayed. Select [Export] after specifying a date, save format and a destination folder from the dialogue displayed. Put a ✔ mark to save all the records. Specify a destination folder. Export button Select a save format.
Various Settings In this section, you will learn how to configure SRS. Wireless setting for the clicker If the wireless connection cannot be established after pressing Response buttons (the “Response button LED” continues to flash) perform the wireless setting using the "Wireless setting button” inside the battery box and on the wireless adapter. Turn on the power of the clicker, and press the “Wireless setting button” inside the battery box. ↓ [2/B] button flashes at high speed.
Using ELMO SRS Configurations With ELMO SRS Configurations, Image Mate Accent for SRS and the clicker can be configured. Starting the software Launch ELMO SRS Configurations from [Start]-[Program Files]-[ELMO]-[Image Mate Accent for SRS]-[ELMO SRS Configurations]. Note The configuration needs to be done by using a mouse. The configuration cannot be done through the Pen Tablet.
Application settings (Setting) Image Mate Accent for SRS can be configured from “Setting”. ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ ⑦ ⑥ ① Language Language can be selected between Japanese and English from the pull-down menu. ② DataBase location The destination to save the database used by Image Mate Accent for SRS and the records of SRS can be set. The destination to save the SRS records can be configured by pressing the Browse button.
③ Contents location The destination to save the contents created by Image Mate Accent for SRS and the folder to add stamps and background images can be set. Open the destination folder to save stamp images. The destination to save the contents can be configured by pressing the Browse button. Open the destination folder to save background images. Note The contents are saved in “rec” folder in “ImageMateAccent” created inside the specified “destination folder”.
⑤ Clicker Power The time for auto power off of the clicker can be set in increments of 10 sec. between 10 sec. and 2,550 sec. using up/down buttons. Note Default setting is 180 seconds. Setting the time for auto power off longer may affect the lifetime of the batteries. ⑥ Default quiz type The question type when SRS is started can be set. (Default setting: 3-choice question) Select a question type (2-6 multiple, True (Yes)/ False (No)) from the pull-down menu.
Remaining amount of the batteries (Battery Life) The last used time and the remaining amount of the battery life for all the registered clickers can be displayed. Note Perform the to see the current remaining amount of the batteries. Last connected time Remaining amount of the battery life: Good:There is enough battery charge. Low:The battery charge is low. Replace the batteries Caution 45 when “LOW” is displayed.
Registration of the clicker (Add a clicker) When the wireless adapter is connected, a list of Device ID’s for the registered clickers is displayed in the order of the student number. Registration of the student number (a seal on the back) to the respective Device ID is done here. The students name can be edit here. Double click here to register or edit the students name. The results and the student numbers are linked. The student number can not be edit.
Software update settings (Software update) The automatic update for the software can be set. Note Access our update page to verify you are running the latest version of the software. You need to have an internet connection to update your software. ① ② ③ ④ ① Update for Image Mate Accent for SRS Press this button to verify the latest version of Image Mate Accent for SRS. ② Update for the Document Camera Press this button to verify the latest version of the Document Camera.
Firmware version of the software (About) You can see the firmware version of the software.
Changing the clicker In case you need to replace the clicker due to reasons such as malfunction, follow the instruction described below. Note Connect the wireless adapter to your computer before performing the clicker change. Caution ➊ Make sure to follow the instruction correctly otherwise the system may not recognize the added clicker. Perform the wireless setting for the added clicker. Establish the wireless setting between the added clicker and the wireless adapter.
➍ Select the clicker to be replaced. Select the Change button. The Device ID for the added clicker turns to green from blue. Select the Device ID for the clicker to be replaced (overwritten) from the list by using a mouse. Select the Device ID for the clicker to be replaced. Change button. ➎ Overwrite the data. Select [OK] after confirming the message in a dialogue box. Caution ➏ Only Device ID is overwritten. Other items remain unchanged.
Other Function About LED The power LED, the Response buttons LED and the wireless setting button LED on the wireless adapter indicate the condition of the respective devices. Clicker ■Power LED (Red) LED status Off On Condition The power is off. Press the power button to turn on the power. The power is on. Press the power button for over 3 seconds to turn off the power. The battery charge is low. Replace with new batteries. ※The LED flashes for max.
Wireless adapter ■Wireless setting button(LED)(Blue) LED status Off Condition The power of the computer is off. The power of the computer is on or the adapter is communicating with other Flashing device. ※The interval of flash changes depending on the condition of the communication. High-speed flashing Caution The Wireless setting button is pressed. For details about other LED status than starting SRS when using with Elmo Pen Tablet CRA-1, refer to the User’s Guide of ELMO Wireless Slate/ Tablet.
Troubleshooting If you have a problem or questions about this product, please read this troubleshooting guide first. If the problem still exists, consult the dealer from whom you purchased this product. Usage precautions ■ About radio waves used by the clicker The clicker uses radio waves on the 2.4 GHz band. When using the clicker, a radio station license is not necessary. However, please note the following precautions. Do not use the clicker near the following: ■ Microwave ovens or industrial, scientific or medical equipments, such as pacemakers ■ In-factory radio stations for mobile unit identification systems (radio stations that require a license) used in production lines of factories.
■Maintenance ・Perform cleaning of the clicker in a dry place. Make sure to remove the batteries before cleaning. ・Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. ・To remove heavy dirt, moisten a soft cloth with diluted neutral detergent and wipe the dirt after wringing the cloth. ・Do not use any volatile solvent such as thinner or benzene.
