PERFORMANCE DATA SHEET
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Read this Performance Data Sheet and compare the capabilities
of this unit with your actual water treatment needs. It is recommended that, before pur-
chasing a water treatment unit, you have your water supply tested to determine your
actual water treatment needs.
NOTICE: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality
without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certied for cyst
reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may contain lterable cysts.
This water lter should be installed and used in compliance with any state or local laws
and regulations.
CAUTION: Use on cold water line only. Do not allow installed lter to freeze.
NOTE: Performance will vary depending on local water conditions.

Instructions For Installing Replacement Filters
1. Turn off water supply and dispense water to relieve water pressure.
2. Mount lter in a suitable location with water ow in direction indicated on lter.
This lter is most effective when installed so that water ows through the lter in
a downward direction. Do not support the lter using the inlet or outlet tubing. A
plastic snap-in bracket, p/n 56190C, is available that can be screwed onto a at
surface.
3. Connect the cold water supply to the lter through a shut-off valve and 1/4” O.D.
tubing (supplied by the installer). For ease of servicing, the shut-off valveshould
be located within easy reach of the lter.
Note: The inlet and outlet ttings supplied as a part of the lter are John
Guest ttings that accept 1/4” O.D. tubing. They may be used with copper,
semi-rigid nylon or polypropylene tubing with a rated working pressure
equal or greater than encountered in application. Do not use soft braided
tubing.
4. Caution: If supply pressure will ever exceed 100 psi, install a pressure
regulator to limit the inlet pressure to the lter to 20 - 100 psi range. To
make connections to the lter, push tube end in the ttings past the o-ring to
a positive stop - approximately 5/8”. Ends of tubing must be cut square
and free of burrs, sharp ends or scratches that could cut or nick the o-rings or
cause a leak.
5. Turn water supply on and check ttings for leaks.
6. Dispense approximately 1 gallon of water to ush any particulate from the lter.
