Installation ª During normal operation, the condenser and compressor at the back of the appliance heat up considerably. For safety reasons, minimum ventilation must be as shown in the relevant Figure. Attention: keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction. ª If the appliance is transported horizontally, it is possible that the oil contained in the compressor flows in the refrigerant circuit.

INSTALLATION If this appliance featuring magnetic door seals is to replace an older appliance having a spring lock (latch) on the door or lid, be sure to make that spring lock unusable before you discard the old appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death-trap for a child. Positioning The appliance should be installed well away from sources of heat such as radiators, boilers, direct sunlight etc.

Position the runners (H) at the top and bottom of the inside of the kitchen unit as shown in Fig. 8 and mark the position of the external holes. After preparing the holes, screw the runners to the kitchen unit door using 3.5x16 mm screws. Fig. 8 H 20m m D094 Open both the appliance door and that of the kitchen unit to approx. 90°. Place the little plates over the runners. Hold the doors of the appliance and the unit together and mark the holes. Fig.

Freezing fresh food Storage of frozen food The 4-star freezer ( ) is suitable for long term storage of commercially frozen food and for freezing fresh food. When first starting-up or after a period out of use, let the appliance run for at least three hours on the fast freeze setting before putting the products in the compartment.
Defrosting In the freezer compartment, the frost should be removed with the special plastic scraper provided whenever the thickness exceeds 4 mm. During this operation it is not necessary to cut-off the power or to remove the food from the freezer. Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost from the evaporator as you could damage it. Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing process other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
MAINTENANCE Unplug the appliance before carrying out any maintenance operation.
