General woodworking tools (power
tools or manual tools)
Wood screws
Level
Construction adhesive
Shims
Pencil
• Once installed, you can apply any necessary touch-ups.
• Make sure the surface and back of the bracket are completely clean and
dry before attempting installation.
• Measure and mark the location where bracket is going to be installed to
be sure brace has a substructure with a minimum of ¾ inches.
1. Mark mounting locations on the cap of existing
knee wall (recommended bracket spacing 18”-
24” starting 6” from edges).
2. Using general woodworking tools, cut bracket
mounting channel to a depth of ½”
3. Mount bracket in channel with wood screws
(use level to establish brackets are even with
knee wall).
If you are using brackets with a ange or
backplate, ensure you screw the horizontal and
vertical anges.
4. If angle of your installation area and bracket do
not match use shims to adjust angle.
5. Apply construction adhesive on top of bracket,
before installing surface.
