G E N E R A L C O N S I D E R A T I O N S 1 Chapter Introduction D oven DVD Series devices are purely for distance measurement assistance systems. They therefore do not satisfy the safety class 3 requirements and must not be used as standalone systems in safety-critical applications, such as anti-collision. Doven devices are designed and built with close collaboration between the hardware and software teams to deliver products that are both user-friendly and have plenty of functionality.
Antenna Considerations This unit has been designed to be operated with the supplied antenna. Utilization of any other antenna is strictly prohibited. The use of any antenna other than the one supplied by Doven is explicitly forbidden. Only Doven is authorized to replace a defective or non-working antenna. Power Supply Before connecting power to this unit, please verify that the following conditions are satisfied: a.
W A R R A N T Y A N D C E R T I F I C A T I O N S 2 Chapter Mounting Instructions • All units are used indoors. • No antennas are installed at any outdoor locations. • ALL indoor antennas are pointed towards the interior of the area to be covered. • No antennas will be installed indoors pointing outdoors.
W A R R A N T Y A N D C E R T I F I C A T I O N S 3 Chapter 1D Linear Measurement The 1D linear measurement consists of a pair of Doven devices used only to measure the distance between them and eventually trigger warning and collision signals. Direct line of sight is required between both devices. One device should be set as Anchor whereas the second unit should be set up as Beacon.
