1. PreparecolumntoreceivePolyOrnamentalCapitalby
trimmingshaftattopofneckmold.*
2. PlacePlugoncolumnandslidecapitaloverplug,resting
plugandcapitalfirmlyonneckmold.Measure¼”above
capitalandmarkplug.Removecapitalandplug.Trimplug
evenlyatmark.
3. Oncefloortoceiling
heighthasbeenestablished,
temporarilyplaceplugand,usingtapemeasure,measure
fromthetopoftheplugdowntotheneededheight.Cut
columnoffatthispointifneeded.
4. Placeplugoncolumnandattachwithscrews(predrilled)
andconstructionadhesive,whichmustbesetintoallow
capital
toslideoverplug.
5. Slidecapitalontoplugandplacecolumnintoposition.
6. Positioncapitalasdesiredandsecuretoplugwithmasonry
gradescrews.
7. Aftercolumnisinstalledthereshouldbeapproximatelya
¼”gapbetweenthetopofthecapitalandceilingorbeam.
Thisgapcansimplybecaulked
usingapaintablecaulk.
8. ToproperlysecurethebaserefertoourColumnInstallation
Instructions.
*WithRomanIonicandScamozzi noplugisneededinmost
cases.Thetopofthecolumnislongenoughtoserveasthe
plug.
Note:Ornamentalcapitals6”‐12”areloadbearinganddonot
use
aplug,refertoinstallationinstructionsincludedwithcapital.
