Getting Started What’s in the Box Congratulations on your purchase of the DLO HomeDock HD, bringing your iPod Music, Videos, and more to life on your high-definition TV. Connecting HomeDock HD to your home entertainment center is a snap. We’ll get you started in three easy steps: STEP 1 - Setup your HomeDock HD Properly connect the power, audio and video to your home entertainment center and remove the plastic strip from your HomeDock HD Remote Control. Setting Up HomeDock HD Your HomeDock HD is ready to use right out of the box. However, you will need to remove the thin plastic strip on the back of your Remote Control to engage the battery.
Connecting HomeDock HD Using S-Video or RCA Connections 1. Plug the included AC Power Adapter into the back of the HomeDock HD Base, and the other end into any available AC power outlet. 2. Plug an S-Video cable or the included AV Cable into the Composite Video Output jack on the back of the HomeDock HD Base. 3. Plug the other end of the S-Video into the corresponding S-Video input on your TV or home stereo, or the included AV Cable into the RCA inputs on your TV or home stereo. 4.
On-Screen Navigation HomeDock HD lets you navigate and select your Music and Videos using a sleek on-screen navigation interface. The included Remote Control uses RF (radio frequency) so you can control your music from anywhere in the house (within 75ft), without a direct line of sight to the HomeDock HD Base. Refer to the diagram below for more information about the functions of your Remote Control.
Album Art and Your HomeDock HD Displaying Album Artwork HomeDock HD can display album artwork for the currently playing track (if available) or while browsing by album. Once displayed, the album artwork is cached in HomeDock HD’s memory for faster retrieval later. See Cataloging [pg.16]. Album artwork is displayed in several places throughout the user interface: • Whenever a selection is playing, the album artwork is displayed in the Now Playing Banner near the bottom of the screen.
Enjoying Photos + Slideshows HomeDock HD Menus To view photos and slideshows from your photo-compatible iPod on your TV using HomeDock HD: 1. Settings + Features Languages HomeDock HD has 19 available languages. Choose yours from the Settings > Languages Menu. Available Languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Czech, Polish, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese, Finnish, Swedish, Turkish, Russian Resolution You can change the video resolution of HomeDock HD to match your TV. Simply choose the correct resolution from the Settings > Resolution Menu.
Screensavers • black screen Displays a plain, black screen. HomeDock HD has several different screensavers. Choose from the Extras > Screensavers Menu. The following screensavers are available: • Now playing Displays the currently playing song, album art (when available) and song progress. Screensaver Timeout • Floating Album Art Displays the floating album artwork of the currently playing song. NOTE: if artwork is unavailable, screensaver displays album artwork placeholder.
Additional Usage Using HomeDock HD with Powered Speakers 1. Plug the included AC Power Adapter into the back of the HomeDock HD Base, then into any available AC power outlet. 2. Connect an RCA-to-mini audio adapter (available separately) to the Left and Right Outputs on the back of your HomeDock HD. 3. Using a 1/8” mini-to-mini cable (included with most powered speakers), connect your HomeDock HD to the input on the powered speakers. 4. Using your Remote Control, turn on your HomeDock HD.
Frequently Asked Questions Do I have to use a TV with HomeDock HD? My Music or Video sounds a little distorted and fuzzy. WHAT CAN I DO? No. The only time you need a TV is for On-Screen Navigation of your music or videos, or to view videos or photos from a video- or photo-compatible iPod. With all other uses, HomeDock HD is a music-based, remote controlled home docking system for your iPod that requires nothing but a stereo or powered speakers to play your iPod music.
