SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of injury, read the
tool instruction manual before using any accessory.
Failure to heed these warnings may result in personal
injury and serious damage to the tool and the
accessory. When servicing this tool, use only identical
replace ment parts.
46-463 PARTS
A. 25-1/2” Lathe Bed Extension (1)
B. M8 x 20 mm Hex Head Bolts (4)
C. M8 Lockwashers (4)
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Align four holes (E) Figure 1 in bed extension with
four holes (F) Figure 2 in lathe bed.
2. Place lockwashers (C) Figure 1 on socket head bolts
(B) and insert bolts through bed extension holes (E)
from below the bed and into tapped holes (F) Figure
2 in lathe bed. Finger tighten the bolts.
3. Slide tailstock (G) Figure 3 into position as shown. Be
sure the center of the tailstock clamping lever rod (H)
is directly over the seam (I) where the bed extension
meets the lathe. This will ensure the internal locking
disc (not shown) overlaps both pieces for proper
alignment.
4. Lock tailstock (G) securely using handle (J). This will
align the extension with the lathe bed.
5. Tighten bolts (B) firmly.
NOTE: Check to see that the tailstock can move freely
across the seam. If not, loosen bolts and repeat steps 3
to 5.
6. Check to make sure the extension bed foot (K) Figure
4 rests firmly on a sturdy mounting surface. Shim the
foot if necessary using flat washers, wood wedges,
etc.
7. Bed extension must be bolted to a sturdy mounting
surface using two 3/8" hex bolts (not supplied)
through holes (L).
NOTE: An additional extension bed can be attached in a
similiar manner to the end of the extension bed foot (K).
Do not attach more than two modular lathe extension
beds to the midi-lathes, models 46-455 and 46-460.
