Dell PowerEdge Servers
Important information for installing
WindowsServer 2008 R2 SP1
The information in this document is applicable to the following Dell PowerEdge
servers, which support Intel C236 chipset:
• R230
• R330
• T330
• T130
All USB devices (including keyboard and mouse) do not function while booting
these servers using the Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 installation media.
The Intel C236 chipset supports only USB 3.0 controllers. However, the Windows
Server 2008 R2 SP1 operating system does not include XHCI drivers that are
required for USB 3.0 controllers to function.
NOTE: The USB 2.0 ports on these servers function using the USB 3.0
controller.
To install this OS on these servers, you must manually include the USB 3.0 drivers
into the installation media. Alternatively, you can download the driver update
utility to automatically update the USB 3.0 drivers into the OS image.
