Executive summary Dell Repository Manager (DRM) is an application that facilitates IT Administrators to effortlessly plan and manage system updates. Dell Repository Manager enables to create custom software pools known as bundles and repositories of Dell Update Packages (DUPs). These bundles and repositories allow the deployment of multiple updates at once. Additionally, the Dell Repository Manager makes it easier to locate specific updates for a particular platform which saves time. .
1 Introduction Dell Repository Manager (DRM) is an application that allows IT Administrators to easily manage system updates. Dell Repository Manager provides a searchable interface used to create custom software collections known as bundles and repositories of Dell Update Packages (DUPs). These bundles and repositories allow for the deployment of multiple firmware updates at once.
2 Purpose and scope The purpose of this white paper is to guide the customers in updating servers with the latest drivers, firmware and application regularly, which is discovered by iDRAC inventory using Dell Repository Manager scheduled repository search option. This paper covers how to use Dell Repository Manager (DRM) to create a custom repository of updates, by using the system’s inventory provided by iDRAC. 7 Creating and updating iDRAC repository using DRM 2.
3 Terminology The following terms will be used throughout this document Dell Change Management Terminology Dell Update Catalog Dell Update Package Bundle Component Source (Repository) Local Repository 8 Creating and updating iDRAC repository using DRM 2.0 A metadata file to define all elements of a Dell update repository. The catalog file is in XML format or a .cab file containing a catalog XML file. For Dell server platforms, the Dell online catalog file is Catalog.

You can create iDRAC Repository using DRM with the discovered models. Go to “Search Dell Support Site” option in “My Repository” tab. Select the repository and then select "Schedule Repository Search" option in the action pane. Select the bundles in the repository.
