GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
Always use only manufacturer-authorized accessories. Unauthorized accessories have the risk of
fire hazard, explosion, personal injury or damage to the radio.
USERS CAUTION
Changes or modifications to your radio may void its compliance with government laws/rules and
make it illegal to use.
FCC RF EXPOSURE STATEMENTS
Restricted to occupational use to satisfy FCC RF energy exposure limits.
The FCC has adopted a safety standard for human exposure to RF energy. Proper operation of
this radio under normal conditions results in user exposure to RF energy below the Occupational
Safety and Health Act and Federal Communication Commission limits.
This device has been designed for specific applications and use. The device will not be
marketed to general users. Government law prohibits operation of unlicensed radio transmitters
within the territories under government control. Appropriate licenses and frequency allocations
must be obtained prior to use.
To satisfy RF exposure compliance, the qualified users of this radio device must control the
exposure conditions. The operation of this transmitter must satisfy the requirements of the
Occupational/Controlled Exposure Environment for work related use and is not approved for use
by the general public in an uncontrolled environment.
Do not allow the antenna to touch any part of the body while transmitting. Do not touch
bystanders while transmitting. Keep the radio and antenna at least as far from bystanders as
from yourself.
DO not operate or transmit the transceiver without the proper antenna attached to the unit.
Only use the manufacturer’s recommended antenna. If the incorrect antenna is used you may
be exposing yourself and others to excess RF radiation.
Do not transmit while the radio is attached to your belt with the optional belt clip.
Hold the radio in a vertical position with the microphone at least 2 inches (5cm) away form your
mouth.
Use this device at a 50% duty cycle (total transmit time of 50%). If transmitting for more than
the recommended 50% duty cycle the exposure compliance requirements can be exceeded.
Whet the PTT (push to talk) switch is pressed the radio is in the transmit mode (red LED on).
