PTO / BLADE ENGAGE KNOB FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR PTO The FuelLevelIndicatoris locatedon the left sideof the tractor's dashand indicatestheamountof fuel in the gas tank. Activatingthe PTOengagespowerto the cutting deck or other (separatelyavailable)attachments. Pull outwardon the PTO/BladeEngageknobto activateit. Pushthe PTO/Blade Engageknob inwardto disengagethe powerto the cutting deck or other (separatelyavailable)attachments.

Cruise Control MOWING Neverengagethe cruise controlleverwhiletravelingin reverse. Toset the cruisecontrol: 1. Slowlypressthe upper portionof thedrive pedalwith your right foot untilthe desiredspeedisachieved. 2. 5. Toplacethe newbelt, begin by routingthe belt aroundthe two outerspindlepulleys,then aroundthefront spindlepulleyas shownin Figure16. 13. Replacethe PTOPulleybelt guard removedin step 4 of CUTTING DECKREMOVAL. NOTE: Insertthe beltguard intothe beltguard slot of the PTOpulley. See Figure10. F Deck idler FrontSpindle Pulley CUTTING BLADES Shutthe engineoff and removeignitionkey beforeremovingthe cuttingblade(s)for sharpeningor replacement.Protectyourhands usingheavy gloveswhengraspingthe blade.

Leveling the Deck (Side to Side) Steering If the cuttingdeck appearsto be mowingunevenly,a side to side adjustmentcan be performed.Adjustif necessaryas follows: 1. If the tractorturnstighter in one directionthanthe other,or if the ball jointsare being replaceddue to damageor wear,the steeringdrag links may needto be adjusted. Withthe tractorparkedon a firm,levelsurface,placethe deck lift leverinthe top notch(highestposition)and rotatebothbladesso that they are perpendicularwith the tractor. 2.
DECK REAR ROLLER ADJUSTMENT ENGINE The rear rollerson the mowerdeck are not designedto carry the weightof the deck.The rear rollersshouldbe adjustedto approximately1/4"to 1/2"abovethe groundwhenthe deck is movedto the desiredcuttingheight. Checking MAINTENANCE the Engine Oil Onlyusehigh quality detergentoil ratedwith API serviceclassification SF,SG, SH, or SJ. Selectthe oil'sSAE viscositygrade accordingto the expectedoperatingtemperature.Followthe chart below.
