PRODUCT OVERVIEW The GES3081 Smart Energy Saving In‐Home Display unit shows the history of your energy and forecasts your energy usage based on the data it collects. The smart ZigBee™ technology enables the unit to communicate with your utility company so you can receive messages about energy saving events and price reductions. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Purpose and correct use: • Read these instructions carefully and keep in a safe place for future reference.
BACKLIGHT Press any button to turn on the backlight. Note: If the backlight has turned off, you need to press any button to turn it on again before you can enter the menus. HOME SCREEN The Home screen is the main display screen. It shows the current level of energy you are consuming and the cost per hour. From the Home screen you can access the current price of your energy, message and Meter reading, messages sent to you by your utility company, and your current meter reading.
Menus The Menu page provides navigation the Usage, Forecast, System and Settings pages. To access the three main menus: Press Menu. See the ‘Navigating the menus’ section for more information. Quick access to the Usage menu To quickly view the Usage menu: From the Home page, Press the Menu button to view the Usage Menu. Use the Up or Down key to highlight the desired usage period. Press the Select button to view the desired usage data, the last 24 hours, ‘Day Usage’ for the last 30 days.
Viewing messages To view messages and prices: 1. Press DOWN and the Message screen opposite appears. 2. If you want to know the cost associated with this message, press DOWN. If you want to review the message and costs of another message, follow the steps below. 3. Press MENU to enter the Review screen and then press UP or DOWN to view the next or previous messages. 4. When you have found the message you want to review, press BACK and then press DOWN to view the costs on the Price Information screen.

NAVIGATING THE MENUS The navigation buttons are as follows: 1 4 2 3 1. BACK: Returns to the previous screen on all menus and screens except the main page. On the main page, it enters the menus.. 2. Usage menu To view your energy usage: 1. Enter the ‘Usage’ menu. 2. Press UP or DOWN to select one of the following options and press MENU to view the data: • ‘Today’ – Shows your energy usage and cost for today. • ‘Last 24 Hours’ – Shows how many hours of energy you have used and the total cost. • ‘Last 30 Days’ – Shows your energy consumption and the total cost for the last 30 days. Forecast menu To view your energy forecast: 1. Enter the ‘Forecast’ menu. 2.
System menu To join a network and connect to the utility company: 1. Enter the ‘System’ menu. 2. Press UP to select ‘Channel’ and press MENU to confirm. 3. The status is ‘No Network’. Use UP or DOWN to select one of the following: • ‘Auto’ – enables an automatic scan for the channel. • ‘All’ – searches all channels. • ‘Channel’ – If you know your channel number enter it here (numbers 1 to 26). 4. Press Scan to confirm and start scanning for a network. The status will now show as ‘Not Joined’.
Settings menu To change the LCD brightness: 1. Enter the ‘Settings’ menu. 2. Press UP to select ‘LCD Brightness’ and press MENU to confirm. 3. Use UP or DOWN to change the brightness of the LCD screen and press MENU to confirm.
