The cursor moves backward, erasing the letters. It works like the Back Space key in computer. If you press and hold (at least 3 sec) this button, the letters are deleted one by one promptly and continuously. If you press this button once and then an alphabet key, the uppercase of the key is entered.

Learning basics 2 Inserting/Removing USIM/USAM card - 2 About USIM card? About USAM card? USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) is a user identification card which is inserted into a W-CDMA phone. The security application module is equipped in the smart card. Being equipped inside the card reader, it authenticates the card and the terminal, encrypts communication data to protect information, and authorizes and verifies communication messages.
BIP-6000 3 Setting password In order to prevent your USIM card from being used by another person, you need to lock your USIM card. Setting a PIN code Start ► Phone ► Menu Tab ► Options... ► Security Tab Click [PIN required for telephone use], enter 4~8 digit-password, and click [ok]. Cautions PIN code is a password used to protect the data in a USIM card. The default PIN code is <0000>, and you can change it as you like. PUK code is an 8-digit code which resets 3 consecutive PIN input errors.
Learning basics 4 Inserting/removing MicroSD card MicroSD card is a micro flash memory media which is used to store and move data. Inserting MicroSD card Precautions Make sure to push in the memory card completely. If it is not inserted completely, the device cannot recognize the memory card. Push in a memory card to the arrow direction on the SD card slot until it is completely inserted. In order to remove the memory card, push the inserted memory card once, and the card springs out slightly.

BIP-6000 8 Switching On/Off power You can switch on/off power by pressing the [Power] button on the upper part of the terminal. Power Button 9 Communication status indication For the terminals which support WCDMA communication, you can view the GSM or WCDMA 1xEVDO communication status with the [Communication status indication lamp] on the upper right side of the terminal.

Learning basics 14 Hard-resetting To hard reset the terminal, you should press the button at the same time. button and the 15 Using IrDA Place the terminals, with IrDA ports facing to each other. (The nearer between the ports, the communication rate increases.) Hard-reset is used when the terminal doesn’t respond to soft-reset. Hard-reset initializes the terminal to factory default. Note that hard-reset deletes all programs, documents and settings in the memory (RAM).

Connecting ActiveSync BIP-6000 1 Installing ActiveSync To connect the terminal with PC, you need to install the [Microsoft ActiveSync] program in your PC. 1 Download [Microsoft ActiveSync] from the website of Microsoft, and install the program in the PC. If the [MicroSoft ActiveSync] program is already installed in your PC, you don’t need to install the program again. The screenshots are for the Korean version of [Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5].

Connecting ActiveSync 2 Using ActiveSync - 2 2 When the terminal is connected with the computer successfully, the [Microsoft ActiveSync] program is started automatically. BIP-6000 Precautions in using ActiveSync The terminal does not work when you remove and return the battery The message “Unknown Device” pops up after the computer detects the USB device This message may be displayed when you switch on the terminal as it is mounted on the desktop charger. If you dismount the terminal and then mount it back to the charger, the ActiveSync program works properly.
Using barcode reader 1 Using barcode 2 Scanning barcode You can scan barcodes by pressing the [Barcode] button on the side or front of the terminal. When you scan barcodes, maintain the correct distance (10cm) and angle between a barcode and the barcode scanner window. BIP-6000 3 Reading barcode Start ► Programs ► Notes On , select [New] button and read a barcode. Then, the barcode data are displayed. If you read a barcode as is open, the barcode is saved automatically in [Notes]. If you read a barcode as is shut, because the data is not saved, you should select [New] and [Menu], and then, [Paste].
Today Screen 1 Viewing Today Screen Terminal states such as [Start], [Wi-Fi], [Com Status], [Volume] and [Battery] are indicated on the top of the screen. Depending on the settings, [Today Screen] may display [Date], [Time], [Wireless Access Setting], [User Info.], [Message], [Work], [Schedule] or [Lock Status]. See p.50 for details. You can set the [Start] menu as you like. See p.48 for details.
BIP-6000 3 Adjusting volume 4 Checking battery You can adjust volume of the folder/menu selecting tone or the ringer. Select in the top right of the screen, and you can check the battery status. in the top right of the Select screen, select Setting, and you can adjust system/ringer volume. If you select Vibration, the terminal is switched into the vibration mode. If you select Release, the terminal is switched into the mute mode.
Inputting text 1 Selecting Text Input Mode There are five different character input methods available. 2 Block Recognizer This input method uses the traditional writing area box split in the middle. The left side is used to write letters and the right side is for number entry. Symbols and common functions are located in other smaller boxes located in the right of the writing box area.

Inputting text 5 Letter Recognizer This option allows you to enter text using your own handwriting. The screen is divided into three different areas. A capital letter area, small letter area, and a number area. Characters are entered by printing letters in each area. The character is then analyzed and typed on the screen automatically.
Phone program 1 Making a call BIP-6000 2 Receiving a call Execute the phone program by selecting the [Phone] button, enter a telephone number, and press the [Call] button to make a call. Redialing If you press the [Call] button without entering a phone number, the terminal automatically makes a call to the last call party. : Cancel numbers one by one. : You can make a call with speed dial number. If you select menu in the bottom right of the speed-dial screen, you can add/edit/delete speed-dial numbers.

Camera BIP-6000 1 Taking photos Start ► Programs ► Camera If you press the [Barcode] button, the terminal takes the Still/Video and automatically saves the Still/Video in the album. Menu Video : Switches into video recording. Mode : You can select Normal/ Burst/Timer. If you press the [Barcode] button in the center of the terminal as Camera is enabled, the terminal takes an Still/Video. Barcode button Resolution : 480×640/600×800/ 768×1024/1536×2048. Flash : Select/deselect flash function.
Camera 1 Taking photos - 2 2 Viewing album By selecting the [Menu] button, you can select Delete, Send, Beam, Set as Today Background, Zoom, Edit, Properties, Options, Send to your space for the Still/Video. The terminal may get off or switch into the standby mode in case the battery is low. If the camera is not used for 1 min, the terminal switches into the standby mode. The video function may be different from this User’s Manual according to the camera program.
BIP-6000 By selecting the [Menu] button, you can select Zoom, Play Slide Show, Set as Today Background, Beam picture, Save, Edit, Properties, Options or Send to your space for the selected Still/Video.
Settings 1 Setting personal environment Buttons Menus You can set the short-cut key functions for buttons on the terminal. Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Buttons Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Menus Setting short-cut key allocation program Select a button, and select the program you wish to allocate to the selected button. All the available programs are displayed on the checklist. The checked programs are indicated on the [Start] menu on the title bar. (You can check up to 7 programs.
BIP-6000 Sounds & Notifications Sounds Tab You can select whether to use notification tones for Events, Programs, Screen taps, Hardware buttons. Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Sounds & Notifications As you select items, sounds and notifications are set for the items, and the terminal notifies you of status or event with sound. Notifications Tab You can select the sound method and notification tone for status or event.
Settings 1 Setting personal environment - 2 Owner Information You can set owner information or memo. Today Appearance Tab You can select an image in the terminal as the background of Today screen. Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Owner Information Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Today You can register user Name, Company, Address, Telephone, E-mail and Notes, and select if they are to be displayed when the terminal is switched on.
BIP-6000 Input Items Tab You can select items to be displayed on the Today screen. You can select the text input method or the voice recording format. Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Today ► Items Tab Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Input The selected items on the list are displayed on Today screen. You can change the order of display of the items with the [Move Up]/[Move Down] button.
Settings 1 Setting personal environment - 3 Lock Password Tab Use this function to protect data by setting the terminal to request password every time it is switched on. Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Lock Enter the password in the Password field, and enter it again for confirmation. Select [Prompt if device unused for], and enter time. The password should be 4 ~ 8 digits, and repeated numbers (e.g., [1111]) or sequential numbers (e.g., [1234]) is not allowed.
BIP-6000 Phone Hint Tab Phone Tab Enter the words which will help you remembering your password. A [Hint] window pops up if you fail to enter the correct password for 4 consecutive times. You can select/deselect sound of the terminal. Start ► Settings ► Personal Tab ► Phone ► Phone Tab Ring type : You can select Ring / Increasing ring / Ring once / Vibrate / Vibrate and ring / Vibrate then ring / None. Ring tone : You can select a bell.

Security Tab You can set a password for USIM card to prevent unauthorized use when it is lost or stolen. Main Tab You can find Total / In use / Free for memory storage and program.
BIP-6000 External GPS Task Manager Program Tab Select the port to be used by the program to import the GPS data. The list of the programs in use and the memory status are displayed. Start ► Settings ► System Tab ► External GPS Start ► Settings ► System Tab ► Task Manager All the programs which use GPS can communicate through this port. With the menu, you can exit all or specific programs. Hardware Tab Designate the hardware port with which the GPS device is to be connected.
Settings 2 Setting system environment - 2 Backlight Battery Power Tab / External Power Tab Keypad Tab You can set the LED Off time after which the LED should be turned off automatically if no key action has been made. Set the keypad LED Off time. Start ► Settings ► System Tab ► Lighting ► Battery Power Tab / External Power Tab The shorter the LED Off time, the battery life extends longer. The LED is turned on when you press any button or touch the screen.
BIP-6000 Remove Programs Brightness Tab You can control brightness by moving the slider bar. The list of programs installed personally or by the company, except the basic programs, is displayed. Start ► Settings ► System Tab ► Lighting ► Brightness Tab Start ► Settings ► System Tab ► Remove Programs The nearer to [Dim], the longer the battery life extends. Select the program you wish to uninstall, and then, select the [Remove] button.
Settings 2 Setting system environment - 3 Screen 3 Setting connection environment Bluetooth General Tab Devices Tab Switch the screen to Portrait / Landscape (righthanded) / Landscape (left-handed). Set the Bluetooth Device (Bluetooth printer, card reader, etc.) for communication with the terminal. Start ► Settings ► System Tab ► Screen Start ► Settings ► Connections Tab ► Bluetooth If you select the [Align Screen] button, you can reset the stylus pen points. See p.20 for details.
BIP-6000 Mode Tab COM Ports Tab You can set communication with the Bluetooth device. Select the COM port to be connected with the Bluetooth device. Start ► Settings ► Connections Tab ► Bluetooth ► Mode Tab Start ► Settings ► Connections Tab ► Bluetooth ► COM Ports Tab Turn on Bluetooth : Select whether to use the Bluetooth device. To extend the battery life, you should uncheck this option. Make this device visible to other devices : This option allows BIP-6000 to be searched by other devices.
Settings 3 Setting connection environment - 2 USB to PC Wi-Fi You can set the communication environment with PC. Start ► Settings ► Connections Tab ► USB to PC Computers adopting the tunneling VPN can make a connection with the terminal through RNDIS. In this case, uncheck [Enable advanced network functionality] before attempting to connect. If [ActiveSync] is not started when the terminal is connected with PC normally, you should select [Enable advanced network functionality].
BIP-6000 Wireless Manager Setting wireless Internet 1 Select Wi-Fi on the Wireless Manager window. Then the list of nearby APs is displayed. 2 Select an AP on the wireless networks list, and select the [Connect] button. Start ► Settings ► Connections Tab ► Wireless Manager You can select [All] to enable/disable three functions at the same time, or select [Wi-Fi] / [Bluetooth] / [Phone] for independent enabling/disabling. If APs list is not displayed, set the connection manually.
Settings 3 Setting connection environment - 3 Wireless Manager - 2 When you enable this function, you can set the details of this function. When you disable this function, you can set the function independently by selecting the [Menu] button in the bottom right of the screen.
