Pro BATTERY CARE & CHARGING Your Batribike Electric Bicycle uses a Lithium battery for it's power and the following points will directly affect battery life and performance. Storage Batteries do not like to be stored in very hot or very cold conditions or to be subject to conditions of high moisture. They also do not like to be left in a fully discharged state. If Lithium batteries are left flat for an extended period they may no longer be functional.
Using the Charger Two types of battery charger are used by BATRIBIKE. (Only one will be supplied). Both have a charge light which will display RED when charging and change to GREEN when the battery is charged. The alternative type charger also has a second light which shows RED when mains power is applied. • Ensure the battery is switched off. • Plug the charging lead into the battery.
Pro Usage Your BATRIBIKE Electric Bicycle can be used as a normal pedal cycle by simply not switching on the battery.
ELECTRIC BICYCLE FUNCTIONS Switching On To use under electric power, switch on at the main power switch under the rear of the battery, then press the POWER button on the handlebar LCD display. Control Buttons By means of the three buttons, POWER, UP and DOWN, on the handlebar mounted display unit, the various functions of the power controller and Cycle Computer can be utilised. See the following sections for details.
Pro Battery Meter The LCD shows the charge remaining in the battery in the lower right of the display. The indicators will gradually go out as the battery power is used up. Refer to the table below for details. BATTERY METER DISPLAYS THE CHARGE REMAINING IN THE BATTERY SYMBOL DISPLAYED CHARGE REMAINING FLASHING 70 - 100% 50 - 70% 30 - 50% 15 - 30% 0 - 15% BATTERY IS EXHAUSTED AND SHOULD BE RECHARGED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE Display Backlighting - Night Mode The LCD has a backlight for night time use.
Speed Display The centre large digits will normally display the current speed of the bicycle. For the UK market this is set to show miles per hour (MPH). The display is accurate to about 10% when the wheel size is correctly calibrated and the tyre inflated as per the manufacturers recommendations. The display can be changed to show kilometres per hour (KMH) by pressing and holding the UP button for 4 seconds. To return to MPH repeat this process.
Pro Pedal Assistance There are 5 levels of pedal assistance available from the motor. Using the UP and DOWN buttons you can select from LOW (1 bar), to HIGH (5 bars). The motor will then be activated upon pedalling. There is a rotation sensor located near the crank which senses when the pedals are being used. PEDAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE MOTOR LEVEL PERFORMANCE 28 miles 15.
Weather and terrain will affect the performance. In hilly areas, or when the bike is heavily loaded, there will be a significant increase in the power used from the battery and hence the range will decrease accordingly. A lightly loaded bike will achieve higher performance levels. (These results were obtained by test riders in optimal conditions - 75kg rider, level ground, no wind).
Pro No Assistance - Normal Pedal Bicycle If the assistance level is set to ZERO (one bar flashing), then the motor will not be turned on. Your BATRIBIKE will now act and feel like a normal bicycle. This is useful when you are feeling fit at the start of a journey or using your bike for exercise purposes. Power is still only a button press away.
BS EN15194 Compliance The BATRIBIKE Pro range is compliant with BS EN15194. For the British market, the addition of a throttle control has rendered this not compliant in some countries. ● You are recommended to seek advice from the relevant authorities in the country you are visiting before travelling.
Pro CYCLE COMPUTER The Pro models have useful Cycle Computer functions built in. There is a built in sensor and pickup located in the rear hub which activates the speed and distance readings. Normal Display When first turned on the display shows the Trip Distance (TRIP) in the bottom left. The Speed is always shown in the upper left section of the display. The assistance level (ASSIST) is set to the lowest level, (1 bar), and the readout is set to display speed in MPH and Trip/Odometer distances in MILES.
Resetting the Trip To reset the TRIP distance at the start of a journey, simply press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously, and hold for 6 seconds. TOGETHER The Odometer distance displays the total distance travelled by the bicycle since leaving the factory and cannot be reset.
Pro STANDARD BICYCLE FUNCTIONS Gears The DIAMOND Pro and GRANITE Pro are provided with 7 speed Shimano Altus gears. To change gear you use the right handlebar mounted Quick Shift selectors. SQUEEZE to Gear number 1 is low for hills and rough change UP terrain and gear 7 is high for normal road use. An indicator window shows the selected gear. To increase the gear simply pull/squeeze the upper lever with your right index finger. To decrease the gear push the lower lever away from you with your thumb.
Braking To stop, release the throttle and pull the brake levers. The brake icon will be shown on the handlebar mounted display. Bell A bell is incorporated into the left hand (rear) brake lever. It is designed to be operated with the left index finger. BELL lever Side Stand To put the bicycle on its stand:1) While holding the bicycle upright, push the stand downwards to its full extent. 2) Lean the bicycle over onto the stand. Do not sit on the bicycle whilst the stand is down.
Pro Quick Release fittings for Seat Height Adjustment With the locking lever in the loose position, tighten the nut until finger tight. The final tightening is done by moving the lever to the locked position. To undo move the lever to the loose position to enable height adjustment. Loose Locked Suspension Forks Pre-Load Adjustment The front suspension forks can be adjusted for pre-load to suit the rider and environment the bike is used in. To stiffen the forks turn the adjuster clockwise.
Adjusting the Handlebars The handlebars can be adjusted for height and angle to suit the rider. Hex keys, (not supplied), will be required to carry out these adjustments. Adjust the height (Diamond Pro only), by loosening 'A' and pulling the handlebar stem upwards. Take care not to exceed the limit marked on the stem. Adjust the rake angle by loosening 'B' and gently moving the bars to the required angle. Adjust the bar rotation angle by loosening with the two 'C' bolts shown.

Pro MAINTAINANCE SCHEDULE Maintaining your bicycle ensures you’ll get the most out of every ride and out of the entire life of your BATRIBIKE electric bike. How much of your bike’s maintenance you can do yourself will depend on your knowledge, skill, experience and whether you have the necessary tools for the job. Beyond this manual, it is good to consult your BATRIBIKE dealer for advice if you are at all unsure about any of the procedures described.
After 3,000 miles (5,000 km) (or YEARLY) ● Hub motor and general inspection We recommend you arrange to have a thorough inspection of your bicycle by a BATRIBIKE dealer. This includes opening up the hub motor to inspect and lubricate the gears. Tyre Pressures The tyres should be pumped up to within the range stated on the sidewall. This should be regularly checked as running with the correct pressures will ensure maximum range from the battery.
Pro SPECIAL BATTERY FEATURES Battery Fuse If the battery will not operate or charge correctly, firstly switch off the battery and check the battery fuse (rated 35A) located on the underside of the battery beneath the screw cover. Use a small cross-head (+) screwdriver to remove the cover. Battery Fuse 35A Blade Type (Automotive) Purple Battery USB Socket On the end of the battery, opposite to the switch and charging socket, is located a standard USB socket.
Battery Meter The battery has a useful meter located on the top rear surface. This is handy when the battery is not fitted to the bicycle as it gives an indication of resting charge level. To operate the meter, press and hold the centre button and the LEDs will light to show an approximation of the remaining charge in the battery. The Battery Switch, (located on the underside of the battery), must be switched to the ON position to operate the meter.
