A. Introduction Thank you for choosing the D1718PK portable DVD player. The main features include a 7" Wide Screen (16:9 Aspect Ratio) Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitor and a DVD player. The unit applies the latest state of the art electronics and is designed for use in hotels, offices or your home. The unit is constructed to provide years of reliable, trouble-free service, and is compact so that you can take it with you anywhere and is designed for quick and easy installation.
Do not attempt to disassemble the cabinet. There is a risk of electric shock and/or exposure to Laser Radiation. Contact qualified service personnel if your system is in need of repair. 5. Cleaning Unit When cleaning, make sure the system is unplugged from the power source. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. G. SETUP Press ‘SETUP’ to display the Main screen of the SETUP Menu on the screen. Press ‘SETUP’ again to exit the SETUP Menu and the unit will resume it’s last playback mode. Main Setup Menu Screen 1) Press ‘SETUP’, the ‘General Setup Page’ will display on screen. a).Select ‘TV Display’ using the UP/DOWN button, and then press RIGHT to enter the submenu. Select the TV display mode on the screen using UP/DOWN, and press ENTER to confirm the setting. Press LEFT to return.
b).Select ‘Angle Mark’ using the UP/DOWN buttton, and then press the RIGHT button to enter the submenu. Choose Angle Mark on or off using the UP/DOWN button and then press ENTER to confirm the setting. Press the LEFT button to return. Angle Mark Screen * On: The screen will show the angle mark icon. (*If an angle option is available). Off: The screen will not display the Angle Mark NOTE: Not all discs contain the features above. The above features are disc dependent. c).
d). Select ‘Last Memory’ by UP/DOWN button. State Last Memory Screen *On: The unit will return to the last position on the disc. *Off: The unit will not return to the last position on the disc. 2) Select ‘Video Quality Setup’ by using the LEFT/RIGHT button, press ENTER to enter the video quality setup page. Video Quality Setup Menu Screen a).Select ‘Brightness’ by using the UP or DOWN button, then press ENTER. You can change the Brightness by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT button.
b).Select ‘Contrast’ by using the UP or DOWN button, then press ENTER. You can adjust the Contrast by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT button. Contrast Screen To exit ‘Contrast’ Setting, press ENTER again to return the main Menu. c).Select ‘Hue’ by using the UP or DOWN button, then press ENTER. You can adjust the Hue by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT button. Hue Screen To exit ‘Hue’ Setting, press ENTER again to return the main Menu. d).Select ‘Saturation’ by using the UP or DOWN button, then press ENTER.
3).Select ’Password’ using the LEFT or RIGHT button, then press the ENTER button to enter ’Password Setup Page’. Password Change Menu Screen Press ENTER to enter the Password Change Page. Input the Old Password or the Default Password, the New Password, and the Confirmed New Password. Press ENTER to confirm the change. b. Select ‘Subtitle’ the using the UP or DOWN button, then press RIGHT to enter the submenu. Select the desired subtitle language or Subtitle Off using the UP or DOWN button, then press ENTER to confirm the setting. Press LEFT to return. Preference Subtitle Language Screen c. Select ‘Disc Menu’ using the UP or DOWN button, then press RIGHT to enter the submenu. Select the Disc Menu Language you desire using the UP or DOWN button, then press ENTER to confirm the setting. Press LEFT to return.
d. Select ‘Parental’ using the UP or DOWN button, then press RIGHT to enter the submenu. Parental Preference Screen Select the parental level you desired using the UP or DOWN button for discs with lock-out function or multiple rating levels. These are listed from the lowest level (1 Kid Safe) to the highest level (Adult). Enter a 4 digit password, then press ENTER to confirm the parental level setting. NOTE: The level of 8 Adult is the factory default. e.

2. MENU A DVD is divided into sections called titles and chapters. When you play a DVD, a root menu of the disc will appear on the screen of your TV or Monitor. The contents of the menu vary from disc to disc. Press MENU during playback to display the menu. Some DVDs only allow you to select disc playback options using the DVD root menu. 3. DISPLAY 1. PLAYING TIME AND REMAINING TIME a.
c. Press ‘DISPLAY’ a 3rd time to display the Elapsed Time for the chapter. The heading will disappear automatically in 3 seconds. Chapter Elapsed Time Screen Display d. Press ‘DISPLAY’ a 5th time to exit, ‘DISPLAY OFF’ will be displayed and will disappear automatically in 3 seconds. 2.
Angle Screen Display 3. SUBTITLE During disc playback press ‘SUBTITLE’ to select the subtitle language you desire*, with the current Subtitle Language Number (1) and the total Number of Subtitle Languages (2) displayed. If there are multiple languages press ‘SUBTITLE’ again to select another subtitle language. To turn subtitles OFF, press the ‘SUBTITLE’ button until ‘SUBTITLE OFF’ is displayed. The Subtitle display will disappear automatically if the ‘SUBTITLE’ button is not pressed again within 3 seconds.
4. AUDIO During playback press AUDIO! to select the audio language you desire*, with the current Audio Channel Number (1) and the total number of Audio Channels (2) displayed. Press AUDIO again to select another audio language. The audio display will disappear automatically if the AUDIO! button is not pressed within 3 seconds. Audio Language Screen Display * Some DVDs only allow access to this function through the DVD menu. 5.
6. A-B REPEAT a. During playback press first time ‘A-B’ to set the Starting Point A. A-B Repeat Starting Point Screen Display b. Press ‘A-B’second time to set the Ending Point B and the layer will repeatedly play the part between Point A and Point B. A-B Repeat Ending Point Screen Display c. Press A-B a third time to cancel A-B repeat and resume normal playback.
7. REPEAT a. During playback press ‘REPEAT’ once to repeatedly play the current chapter. Chapter Repeat Screen Display b. During playback press ‘REPEAT’ again to repeatedly play the current title. Title Repeat Screen Display c. During playback press ‘REPEAT’ a 3rd time to repeat all Chapters and Titles.
d. Press “REPEAT” a 4th time, to resume normal play. Repeat Off Screen Display 4. PLAYING AUDIO CDS When playing an audio CD press the DISPLAY button on the remote to view time information. The options below show you what information is available using this function. a. The current track and playing timeof that track will be displayed on the screen. Single Elapsed Screen Display b.Press ‘DISPLAY’ one time and Single Remain appears along with the current track playing and the amount of time left.
c. Press ‘DISPLAY’ a 2nd time and Total Elasped appears along with the current track playing and the total time that the CD has been playing. Total Elapsed Screen Display d. Press ‘DISPLAY’ a 3rd time and Total Remain appears along with the current track playing and the amount of time remained on the CD. Total Remain Screen Display e. Press ‘DISPLAY’ a 4th time and “ Display Off” will appear momentarily then disappear. The CD time Information will not be displayed.
5. PLAYING MP3 DISCS MP3 is a format for storing digital audio. An audio CD-quality song is compressed into the MP3 format with very little loss of audio quality while taking up much less disc space. CD-R /RW discs that have been encoded in MP3 format are compatible with this system.
Use the ( NEXT ) button to move to the next song. Press the (PREVIOUS) button to move to the beginning of the previous song. USING THE REPEAT FEATURE The default mode is Folder. Pressing REPEAT consecutively changes the repeat options: • Single • Repeat One • Repeat Folder • Folder As you toggle through the options, the repeat option changes. The selected repeat option loops repeatedly until you turn it off. NOTICE “ ” icon in front of a file name indicates that this is a folder, not an MP3 file.

Playing JPEG file 1) Load the JPEG Disc into tray. 2) Select JPEG file by pressing “UP/DOWN” button. 3) You can preview the JPEG file by pressing “Play” or “ENTER”. 4) Pressing the “Left Key“ will rotate the picture 90 degrees counterclocckwise. Pressing the “Right Key“ will rotate the picture clockwise. 5) When browsing the photos, you can reverse the photo horizontally by pressing “Up” key,or you can reverse the photos vertically by pressing “Down” key.
k. Press “display” 11th time, “COMPRESS TO CENTER H” will display on the screen, the picture will refresh from top and bottom to center. l. Press “display” 12th time, “COMPRESS TO CENTER V” will display on the screen, the picture will refresh from right and left to center. m.Press “display” 13th time, “WINDOW H” will display on the screen, the picture will refresh from four window’s top side to bottom side. n.
2. AV In Connecting to a Game or Camcorder. a. Slide the AV In/Out switch to In. b. Connect one end of the supplied audio/video adapter cable (1/8”) plug into the unit’s DVD’s AV jack, and connect the other end to the AUDIO OUTPUT jacks on your Game or Camcorder through an optional RCA cable (white = left channel, red = right channel, Yellow = Video).
3) Optional Game Controller Please refer to the operation manual provided with the Game Controller. *Note: Do not use the “AV Jack” and “E Port” at the same time when in “AV IN” mode. Unplug the game controller when using the A/V input jack. 4. Connecting Headphones Plug the headphones into either Headphone 1 jack or Headphone 2 jack on the right side of the D1718PK. Plugging into Headphone jack 1 will disable the internal speakers.

Installing the Battery Pack: 1. First, make sure the player is off and that the AC power supply has been disconnected. 2. Close the player cover. 3. Align the battery pack pins with the holes on the rear of the unit. 4. Push the battery towards the rear of player until it locks into position. The lock position is indicated by a click.
