Frequently Asked Questions

Audeze Mobius Frequently Asked Questions
How does Mobius actually work?
a. In addition to the user guide in the box, we have lots of info about how to
use Mobius on our support website’s Mobius Technical Questions help
page, where you'll find setup and use tips, troubleshooting and more!
How can I use Mobius with my gaming console?
a. Connection to some consoles is currently supported via AUX/analog with
the 3.5mm cable, as some consoles require special licensing for USB or
Bluetooth compatibility. See our support article on console connection for
more details.
Does Mobius support Dolby Atmos, DTS-X, Windows Sonic, Tempest, etc
for 3D audio rendering?
a. Mobius does its own 3D processing, so it can be used for 5.1, 7.1 or
stereo audio using speaker emulation technology and optional
head-tracking. Mobius is also compatible with any pre-processed 3D audio
such as those above, when used in Stereo or Hi-Res modes with 3D
turned off. Here’s a detailed article about how surround sound works in
Mobius.
How can I adjust settings and/or update my Mobius?
a. If you have a Windows or Mac PC, you can install and use the Audeze HQ
app for Mobius. Please see instructions in this article.
Why aren’t my settings saving when I change channel modes?
a. The Mobius is actually seen as 3 separate audio devices by your PC when
you switch between 7.1, hi-res and stereo mode. If you don’t have each
mode set as the default audio device for both mic and audio output on
your PC, you’ll have to switch to the correct device manually in your
software each time you switch. For more detailed information see our
support article.
I plugged in the mic, but I don’t get any sound out of it.
a. There are two 3.5mm ports on the Mobius earcup, so please make sure
the mic is plugged into the correct port, which is marked with a mic
symbol.
b. Please check the various switches and settings on both the Mobius and in
your source device (Mic Mute switch, Mic Volume wheel, etc).
c. For more details, please see this support article.
What is the crinkling sound I sometimes hear when I press on the earcup?
a. This is the sound of the thin diaphragm moving back and forth with
changes in air pressure, and is completely normal with planar magnetic
drivers. You can read more in this support article.
