About this guide This manual briefly describes the Vivo DualBay adapter and provides detailed information on how to install 2.5-inch HHDs/SSDs to the adapter. The Vivo DualBay adapter The Vivo DualBay adapter allows you to install two 2.5-inch HDDs or two SSDs for additional storage solutions and flexibility. Depending on your package and model specification, the Vivo DualBay adapter is bundled either as a stand alone tray (empty) or with a pre-installed 2.
Installing 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs IMPORTANT: Ensure to turn off your VivoMini and disconnect all cables and peripherals before installing any device or components. To install 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs to the Vivo DualBay adapter: 1. Place the VivoMini on a stable and flat surface. 2. Press down the latch at the rear panel to release the top cover of the VivoMini. 3. Slide the top cover towards the rear of VivoMini until it is detached from the chassis. 4. Remove the cover and set it aside.
5. Carefully slide the Vivo DualBay adapter away from the SATA connector, then remove it from the drive bay. Vivo DualBay adapter VivoMini 4 6. Place the Vivo DualBay adapter on a flat and stable surface. 7. Release the screws on the rear of the Vivo DualBay adapter and set it aside.

9. Prepare the 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs and the bundled set of screws. IMPORTANT: If your Vivo DualBay adapter comes with a pre-installed 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, skip the next steps and proceed to step 12. 10. Align the SATA connector of the 2.5-inch HDD/SSD to the SATA connector on the lower part of the Vivo DualBay adapter, then slide the 2.5-inch HDD/SSD into the adapter’s SATA connector as shown. 12. Get the top cover of the Vivo DualBay adapter and place it upside down on a flat and stable surface. 13. Get another 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, then position it upside down on top of the Vivo DualBay cover matching the screw holes on the drive with the screw holes on the top cover. 15. Place the top cover and HDD/SSD assembly into the Vivo DualBay adapter, then slide it towards the SATA connector. NOTE: Ensure that the SATA connector of the HDD/SSD on the top cover matches the SATA connector on the Vivo DualBay adapter, and that the screw holes at the rear of the top cover matches the screw holes on the adapter as shown. 16. Secure the top cover and HDD/SSD assembly to the Vivo DualBay adapter using the screws that you removed earlier in step 7. 17. Place the Vivo DualBay adapter assembly into the VivoMini’s drive bay, then slide it towards the SATA connector to secure it in place.
18. Replace the top cover, then slide it towards the front of the VivoMini to re-attach. 19. Lock the latch to securely fasten the top cover to the chassis. 20. Reconnect all cables and peripherals. 21. Turn on your VivoMini.
