IMPORTANT!

 Updating the firmware may result in data loss. Ensure to back up your data before

updating the firmware.

 Do not shut down or reset the system during the update process. Doing so can cause

system boot failure.

 BeforeupdatingtheUEFI Marvellfirmware,ensure thatyoumovethe DuoModeswitchto

therighttoenabletheUEFI mode. TheDuoModeLED turnstosolidorangeindicating that

theUEFImodeisenabled.

Doing so can cause system boot failure.  Before updating the UEFI Marvell firmware, ensure that you move the DuoMode switch to the right to enable the UEFI mode. The DuoMode LED turns to solid orange indicating that the UEFI mode is enabled.

Creating a bootable USB drive NOTE: Download the ISO file fbasecd from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ and copy it to your USB drive. To create a bootable USB drive: 1. From the Distribution dropdown list, select the correct distribution for the fbasecd.iso file. 2. From the Type dropdown list, select USB Drive as the device type. 3. Click OK.

Updating the firmware To update the firmware: 1. Ensure that you have installed your RAIDR Express PCIe SSD card. NOTE: For more details, refer to your RAIDR Express PCIe SSD card’s user manual. 2. Ensure that you have set the boot priority on USB drive in the BIOS. NOTE: For more details, refer to your motherboard’s user manual. 3. Install your USB drive to your computer’s USB port. 4. From the screen, select fdos. 5. Key in the following: C:\cd fw C:\fw>dir/w C:\FW>UEFI 6. Press . 7.
