ASUS Router R MA AC Clonee Setup Prrocedure Intrroduction:: Thiss document describes d ho ow to set up an a ASUS wirreless routerr (such as RT T-N16, RT-N13U, RT-N N15, etc.) to connect to the t Internet if your cable modem doe es not renew an IP address to yourr ASUS route er due to MA AC binding. 1. Connecct the cable modem’s network n cab ble into your desktop/n notebook PC C. 2.
3. Using th he Window ws command d prompt, find the 12‐d digit MAC ad ddress (Physicaal Address) assigned to o your PC an nd copy it down. For Wind dows XP/Vista/7 users: 1. Clickk Start > All Prrograms > Acccessories > Com mmand Prompt 2. A command prom mpt window will w appear and d type: ipconfiig /all. 3. u the “Eth hernet adapte er Local Area Connection”, C ffind the "Physsical Scroll down and under t format XX‐‐XX‐XX‐XX‐XX‐‐XX).
4. Removee the cable modem’s network cab ble from you ur desktop/notebook PC P and insert a netwo ork cable fro om your ASUS router’s LAN port to o your desktop p/notebookk PC. 5. Open an Internet browser b and d type in the address “192.168.1.1 “ 1” (router’ss default address, if you changeed it, please e use the on ne you assiggned). 6. Type “a admin” for the t User name, “admin n” for the Password, an nd click “OK K”.
7. Go to Advanced A Seetting > WA AN > Interneet Connectiion tab, then scroll dow wn to the section s labeeled Speciall Requiremeent from ISP P.
8. In the MAC M Addresss section, type t in the MAC address that was copied dow wn from step 3 and cliick “Apply” when finish hed. 9. After th he router fin nishes applyying the setttings, insertt the cable modem’s network cable into o the WAN port p of yourr ASUS routter, and connect your desktop p/notebookk PC to one of router’s LAN ports.
10. Go to th he Networkk Map, clickk the Interneet icon, and d wait a few w seconds orr press “R Renew” and d you should see a valid IP address and Connection Status: Conneccted.
