However, to ensure your safety, it is important that you read the following safety instructions. Set up the system on a stable surface with the provided stand.

Welcome English Congratulations on your purchase of the Eee Box PC. The following illustration displays the package contents of your new Eee Box PC. If any of the below items is damaged or missing, contact your retailer.
Knowing your Eee Box PC English Front view Refer to the diagram below to identify the components on this side of the system. 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 Hard disk LED The hard disk LED blinks when data is being written into or read from the hard disk drive. 2 Power switch The power switch allows powering ON and OFF the system. 3 Memory card slot The built-in memory card reader reads MMC/SD/SDHC/MS/ MS Pro cards used in devices like digital cameras, MP3 players, mobile phones, and PDAs.
USB port The USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is compatible with USB devices such as keyboards, mouse devices, cameras, and hard disk drives. USB allows many devices to run simultaneously on a single computer, with some peripheral acting as additional plug-in sites or hubs. 5 Headphone/Audio Out jack The stereo headphone jack (3.5mm) is used to connect the system’s audio out signal to amplified speakers or headphones.
Rear view English Refer to the diagram below to identify the components on this side of the system. 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 Wireless antenna jack The jack is used to connect the supplied wireless antenna to enhance wireless signal reception. 2 Power input (DC 19V) The supplied power adapter converts AC power to DC power for use with this jack. Power supplied through this jack supplies power to the PC. To prevent damage to the PC, always use the supplied power adapter.
DVI port The Digital Visual Interface (DVI) port supports a high quality VGA-compatible device such as a monitor or projector to allow viewing on a larger external display. 4 USB port The USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is compatible with USB devices such as keyboards, mouse devices, cameras, and hard disk drives. USB allows many devices to run simultaneously on a single computer, with some peripheral acting as additional plug-in sites or hubs.
Positioning your Eee Box PC English Installing the stand Erect your Eee Box PC with the supplied stand. To do so: 1. 2. Locate the screw hole on the bottom of the Eee Box PC. Align the stand screw to the PC screw hole, and then secure the stand to the PC with a coin. English Installing your Eee Box PC to a monitor You can also install your Eee Box PC to the back of a monitor. To do so: 1. Secure the metal shelf (optional accessory) to your monitor with four screws. To fasten the metal shelf, your monitor must comply with VESA75 or VESA100 standard. 2 2. Place your Eee Box PC on the metal shelf noting the correct alignment, and then secure the PC to the shelf with a coin.
Setting up your Eee Box PC English You need to connect peripherals before using your Eee Box PC. Connecting to a display Connect one end of a DVI cable to the display ( to the DVI port on the system rear panel ( 2 ). 1 ) and the other end 2 1 Connecting to USB devices Connect USB devices like keyboards, mouse devices, and printers to the USB ports on the system rear panel.
Connecting to a network device English Connect one end of a network cable to the LAN port on the system rear panel and the other end to a hub or switch. Network cable with RJ-45 connectors Network hub or switch Turning on the system Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC IN jack on the system rear panel, and then press the power switch on the front panel to turn on the system.
Using your Eee Box PC English Configuring wireless connection To connect to a wireless network, follow the instructions below: Connect the supplied wireless antenna to your Eee Box PC to enhance wireless signal reception. 1. From the Windows® notification area, right-click the wireless network icon and select View Available Wireless Networks. 2. Select the wireless network you want to connect to from the list and click Connect. Enter the network security key if necessary. 3.
Configuring wired connection English To establish a wired network, follow the instructions below: Using a static IP 20 1. Right-click the network icon on the notification area and select Open Network Connections. 2. Right-click Local Area Connection and select Properties. 3. Hightlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
5. 6. 7. Select Use the following IP address. Enter your IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway. If needed, enter the Preferred DNS server address. After entering all of the related values, click OK to finish the configuration. English 4. Using a dynamic IP (PPPoE connection) 1. 2 3. Repeat Step 1–3 in the previous section. Select Obtain an IP address automatically and click OK. Click Create a new connection to start the New Connection Wizard.
Click Next. 5. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next. 6. Select Set up my connection manually. 7. Select your connection type and click Next. 8. Enter your ISP Name and click Next. 9. Enter your User name and Password. Click Next. English 4.
11. Enter your user name and password. Click Connect to connect to the Internet. English 10. Click Finish to finish the configuration. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if you have problems connecting to the network.
ASUS Easy Update English ASUS Easy Update is a software tool that automatically detects and downloads the latest BIOS, drivers, and applications for your Eee Box PC. 1. From the Windows® notification area, right-click the ASUS Easy Update icon. 2. Select Schedule to set how often you want to update your system. Select Update to activate the update. 3. 24 4. Click OK to display the items you can download. 5. Check the item(s) you want to download, and then click OK.
Eee Box Express Gate English Eee Box Express Gate is an instant-on environment that gives you quick access to web, Skype, and your photo albums. A few seconds after turning on your Eee Box PC, you will be at the Express Gate menu where you can start the web browser, Skype, or other Express Gate applications. The first screen Express Gate’s first screen appears right after you turn on your Eee Box PC.
English LaunchBar In the Express Gate environment, click the icons on the LaunchBar to open or switch among applications. You can also switch among applications by pressing ALT + TAB on the keyboard. Right-clicking anywhere on the desktop opens a menu of applications. The red dot below an application icon on the LaunchBar indicates that the application is running, so you can switch to it immediately.
Using the Configuration panel English The configuration panel allows you to change Express Gate settings. Click an icon to open a configuration tool. The following tools are available: • • • • • • Date and Time: sets date and time as well as time zone. Input Language: configures input method settings. Language and Keyboard: sets your language and keyboard preferences. LaunchBar Settings: customizes your LaunchBar. Network: establishes a wireless/wired network connection.
Using the LaunchBar English The LaunchBar contains application and system status icons. The LaunchBar can be hidden or located on any side of the screen. Starts the Web Browser for quick access to the World Wide Web. Starts the Photo Manager album/organizer tool. Starts the Chat instant messaging tool. Start the Skype application. Opens Configuration Panel to configure network settings and other preferences.
English Customizes LaunchBar settings. Shows the “ASUS Utility” panel. Shows Express Gate version information. Opens Express Gate online Help. Opens the “Power Off” menu. You can also press CTRL + ALT + DEL on the keyboard to open this menu. Recovering your system English Using the recovery DVD The recovery DVD includes an image of the operating system installed on your system at the factory. The recovery DVD, working with the support CD, provides a comprehensive recovery solution that quickly restores your system to its original working state, provided that your hard disk drive is in good working order.
6. 7. Insert the support CD into the optical drive when you are asked to. After the system recovery is completed, restart the computer. After the system reboots, Windows® will begin system configurations and install drivers and utilities. Set up your language, time zone, keyboard, computer name, and user name to enter the Windows® OS. English 5. This recovery DVD is for Eee Box PC only. DO NOT use it on other computers. Visit the ASUS website www.asus.com for any updates.
Using the hidden partition English The recovery partition includes an image of the operating system, drivers, and utilities installed on your system at the factory. The recovery partition provides a comprehensive recovery solution that quickly restores your system’s software to its original working state, provided that your hard disk drive is in good working order.

Eee Box PC’nizi konumlandırma Altlığı takma Türkçe Ürünle gelen standı kullanarak Eee Box PC’nizi dik hale getirin. Bunu yapmak için : 1. Eee Box PC’nin en altında bulunan vida deliğini bulun. 2. Altlık vidasını PC vida deliğiyle hizalayın, sonra bir metal parayla altlığı PC’yle sağlamlaştırın. Eee Box PC alttan görünüm 1 Vida deliği Altlık vidası 2 Eee Box PC’nizi altlığı olmadan masaüstüne koymayın.
Eee Box PC’nizi bir monitöre takma Eee Box PC’nizi bir monitörün arka tarafına da takabilirsiniz. 1. Monitörünüze giden metal rafı (opsiyonel aksesuar) dört adet vidayla sağlamlaştırın. Metal rafı sıkmak için, monitörünüz VESA75 veya VESA100 standartlarına uyumlu olmalıdır. Türkçe 2 2. Doğru hizalamaya dikkat ederek, Eee Box PC’nizi metal rafa yerleştirin, ve sonra PC’yi rafa madeni parayla oturtun.
Eee Box PC’nizi Ayarlamak Eee Box PC’nizi kullanmadan önce, çevre birimleri takmanız gerekir. Bir Ağ Aygıtına Bağlanma Ağ kablosunun bir ucunu sistem arka panelindeki LAN yuvasına, diğer ucunu bir göbek veya anahtara takın. Türkçe RJ-45 konektörlere sahip Ağ kablosu Ağ hub ya da switch’i Sistemi açma Ürünle gelen AC adaptörünü sistem arka panelindeki DC IN jakına takın, ve sonra sistemi açmak için ön paneldeki power switch (güç anahtarına) basın.
Eee Box PC’nizi Kullanma Kablosuz bağlantıyı ayarlama Kablosuz bir ağa bağlanmak için, aşağıdaki talimatları takip edin: 1. Windows® bildirim alanından wireless network (kablosuz ağ) ikonuna sağ tıklayın ve View Available Wireless Networks (Kablosuz Ağları Görüntüle)’yi seçin. 2. Listeden bağlanmak istediğiniz kablosuz ağı seçin ve Connect (Bağlan)’a tıklayın. Türkçe Kablosuz sinyal alımını güçlendirmek için ürünle gelen kablosuz anteni Eee Box PC’nize takın.
Kablolu bağlantıyı ayarlama Kablolu ağ oluşturmak için aşağıdaki yönergeleri izleyin: Statik IP kullanma Bildirim alanındaki ağ ikonuna sağ tıklayın ve Ağ Bağlantılarını Aç’ı seçin. 2. Yerel Ağ Bağlantısı’nı sağ tıklatın ve Özellikler’i seçin. 3. Internet Protokolü (TCP/ IP) öğesini vurgulayın ve Özellikler’i tıklatın. Türkçe 1.
5. 6. 7. Aşağıdaki IP adresini kullan öğesini seçin. IP adresinizi, Alt ağ maskenizi ve Varsayılan ağ geçidini girin. Gerekirse, Tercih edilen DNS sunucusu adresini girin. 11. Kullanıcı adınızı ve parolanızı girin. Internet’e bağlanmak için Bağlan’ı tıklatın. Türkçe 10. Yapılandırmayı tamamlamak için Son‘u tıklatın. Ağa bağlanırken sorun yaşarsanız Internet Servis Sağlayıcınıza (ISP) başvurun.
ASUS Kolay Güncelleme ASUS Easy Update, Eee Box PC’niz için en son BIOS, sürücüler ve uygulamaları otomatik olarak bulup indiren bir yazılım aracıdır. 1. Türkçe 2. 3. 56 Windows® bildirim alanından ASUS Easy Update simgesine sağ tıklayın. Sisteminizi ne kadar sıklıkla güncellemek istediğinizi belirlemek için Programla’yı seçin. Güncellemeyi etkinleştirmek için Güncelle’yi seçin. 4. İndirebileceğiniz öğeleri göstermek için Tamam’a tıklayın. 5.
Eee Box Express Gate Eee Box Express Gate internet, Skype ve fotoğraf albümlerinize hızlı erişim imkanı sağlayan bir anında açılır çevredir. Eee Box PC’nizi açtıktan birkaç saniye sonra, web tarayıcınızı, Skype’ı, veya diğer Express Gate uygulamalarını başlatabileceğiniz Express Gate menüsünde olacaksınız. Türkçe İlk ekran Express Gate’in ilk ekranı Eee Box PC’yi açtıktan hemen sonra çıkar.
Türkçe Başlatma çubuğu Express Gate ortamında, uygulamaları açmak veya aralarında gezinmek için Launch Bar’daki ikonlara tıklayın. Aynı zamanda klavyedeki ALT + TAB ‘a basarak uygulamalar arasinda gezinebilirsiniz. Masaüstünde herhangi bir yere sağ tıklamak uygulamaların menüsünü açacaktır. LaunchBar’daki uygulama ikonunun altındaki kırmızı nokta uygulamanın çalıştığını gösterir, yani ona hemen geçebilirsiniz.
Konfigürasyon panelini kullanma Türkçe Konfigürasyon paneli Express Gate ayarlarını değiştirmenizi sağlar. Bir konfigürasyon uygulamasini açmak için ikona tıklayın. Aşağıdaki aletler bulunmaktadır: • Tarih ve Zaman : Zaman dilimiyle birlikte tarih ve zamanı da ayarlar. • Girdi Dili: Girdi yöntemi ayarlarını ayarlar. • Dil ve Klavye: Klavye ve dil tercihlerinizi ayarlar. • LaunchBar Ayarları: LaunchBar’ınızı özelleştirir. • Ağ: Kablosuz / kablolu ağ bağlantısı kurar.
LaunchBar’ı Kullanmak LaunchBar uygulamalar ve sistem durumu ikonlarını içerir. LaunchBar gizlenebilir veya ekranın herhangi bir bölümüne alınabilir. Türkçe World Wide Web’e hızlı erişim için Web Browser (Web Tarayıcısı)‘nı başlatır. Photo Manager (Fotoğraf Yöneticisi) albüm/ organize edici uygulamayi çalıştırır. Chat (Sohbet) ani mesajlaşma uygulamasini başlatır. Skype uygulamasını başlatır. Ağ ayarlarını ve diğer tercihleri ayarlamak için Configuration Panel (Yapılandırma Paneli) ‘ni açar.
Klavye kısa yollarıyla beraber girdi yöntemi ayarlarını değiştirir. LaunchBar ayarlarını özelleştirir. Türkçe “ASUS Hizmet Programı” panelini gösterir. Express Gate sürüm bilgisini gösterir. Express Gate çevrimiçi Yardımı açar. “Güç Kapalı” menüsünü açar. Bu menüyü açmak için ayrıca CTRL + ALT + DEL tuşlarına basabilirsiniz.

6. 7. Size sorulduğunda destek CD’sini optik sürücüye takın. TAMAM öğesini tıklattığınızda sistem yeniden başlatılır. Sistem yeniden başlatıldığında, Windows® sistem yapılandırmalarını başlatır ve sürücülerle yardımcı programları yükler. Bilgisayarı yeniden başlatın ve Windows® isletim sistemine’ye giriş için dil, zaman dilimi, klavye, bilgisayar adı ve kullanıcı adını seçin. Türkçe 5. Bu kurtarma DVD’si sadece Eee Box PC içindir.
