Safety Precautions
Read all safety precautions and installation instructions carefully
before installing or servicing this fixture. Failure to comply with
these instructions could result in potentially fatal electric shock
and/or property damage.
It is recommended that a qualified electrician perform all wiring. This
fixture must be wired in accordance with all national and local
electrical codes.
Do not handle any energized fixture or attempt to energize any
fixture with wet hands or while standing on a wet or damp surface or
in water.
This fixture is designed for use in a 110-120VAC, 60Hz fused circuit.
Do not use on a dimming circuit.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, and to assure proper operation,
this fixture must be adequately grounded. To accomplish proper
grounding, there must be a separate ground wire (green) or bare metal
contact (metal conduit) between this fixture and the ground
connection of your main power supply panel. The green ground
screw location is clearly marked on the fixture housing.
This fixture is intended for general indoor lighting in dry or damp
locations only.
Assembly Instructions
1. Preparing for installation
a. Disconnect electrical power at fuse or circuit breaker box before installing or
servicing any part of this fixture.
b. Use the four screws provided to assemble the ends onto channel (Fig. 1).
c. Remove the knockout located in the center of the fixture.
2. Fixture Mounting
a. Partially install appropriate mounting hardware (not included) into 1 spot of the
junction box (not included). Leave a 1/4 in gap between the head of the mounting hardware
and the ceiling.
b. Position the fixture with the knockout directly beneath the junction box and allow the head
of the mounting hardware to pass through the large end of either 1 of the 2 mounting slots
(Fig. 2-A). Shift the fixture so the mounting hardware is at the small end of the mounting
slot (Fig. 2-B). The fixture can now be suspended.
c. Rotate the fixture into the desired position and mark the locations of the mounting holes. Use a stud finder to
determine if there are ceiling joists at the mounting locations.
d. Drill a 1/4 in hole through ceiling boards for toggle bolts (not included) if needed.
e. Note: When mounted, the mounting hardware must secure the fixture solidly to the
ceiling. Screws (not included) must penetrate joists (Fig. 3-A) or toggle bolts (not
included) must be placed through the ceiling boards (Fig. 3-B).
f. Complete mounting the fixture with appropriate mounting hardware.
3. Wiring
Caution: All wiring must be done inside the junction box. Consult a qualified electrician
before installing.
a. Pull the supply wires from the junction box through the knockout.
b. Use wire nut to connect white wire from ballast to neutral supply wire (Fig. 4-A). Strip
supply wires if needed (Fig. 4-E). Use wire nut to connect black wire from ballast to
power supply wire (Fig. 4-B). Use wire nut to connect green wire from channel to bare or
green ground wire (Fig. 4-C).
c. Push the connections through the knockout back into the junction box.
4. Lamp and Diffuser Installation
a. Install lamps by inserting pins into sockets and rotating 90°.
b. Place diffuser at an angle inside one end (Fig. 5, Step 1). Push diffuser up
into the body of the fixture (Fig. 5, Step 2). Slide the diffuser to the other side
so that it sits evenly between the ends (Fig. 5, Step 3).
c. Restore power.
