The SBV3202 is a combination DOCSIS 3.0 telephony cable modem with two Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone lines and optional battery backup (battery sold separately). It uses DOCSIS 3.0 technology to provide secure high-speed Internet access on your home or small business network. Using the connection capabilities of the SBV3202, you can connect your computer via the Ethernet port and a land-line phone via the Telephone port. The SBV3202 connects to the existing coaxial cable connection in your home.

A Note: The battery for the SBV3202 is sold separately. Battery operation is optional. Skip the following steps if you do not intend to use a battery. Place your cable modem on its side, then push down and pull on the battery cover to open the battery compartment on the bottom of the cable modem. Slide the terminal end of the battery (label side up) into the battery compartment until it is fully seated in place. Replace the battery cover and push the battery cover until it snaps into place.
B Connect the coaxial cable (not included) from the cable wall outlet or RF splitter to the Cable connector on the rear of your SBV3202. Tighten the connector by hand.
C Connect a telephone cable to the TEL LINE port on your telephone and to the TEL1 port on the rear of your SBV3202.
D Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the rear of your SBV3202 and the Ethernet port on your wireless router, PC, or laptop.
E Connect the power cord to the Power port on the rear of your SBV3202, then plug it into an electrical wall outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch. Your SBV3202 automatically powers ON when the power cord is connected.
F Check the front panel LEDs on your SBV3202. After a brief pause, the Online, US/DS, and Power LEDs should light up SOLID blue.
To save time, make sure you have the cable modem model name (SBV3202), HFC MAC ID, and Serial Number (S/N) listed on the cable modem label located on the bottom of your SBV3202 or attached in the Cable Modem Label section at the end of this document. Note: For Comcast subscribers, please visit xf inity.com/activate before calling Comcast or ARRIS. If there is an issue with the activation, please call Comcast: 1-800-Xf inity (1-800-934-6489).
G Verify SBV3202 connectivity by accessing the Internet on your connected PC or laptop. Visit any public webpage such as www.surfboard.com. If the website fails to open, please contact your service provider to set up your Internet service or activate your SBV3202.

A Monitor the SBV3202 operational status using the SBV3202 Web Manager. Open a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) on your connected computer or laptop. Type the default LAN IP address, 192.168.100.1, in the Address bar and press Enter.
