PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The remote control allows you to:

• Remotely lock or unlock the vehicle

doors.

• Unlock the doors without actively using

a key or remote control (intelligent

access only).

• Remotely open the power liftgate (if

equipped).

• Remotely start or stop the engine and

user pre-set features (if equipped).

• Arm and disarm the anti-theft system.

• Activate the panic alarm.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON

RADIO FREQUENCIES

This device complies with Part 15 of the

FCC Rules and with Industry Canada

license-exempt RSS standard(s).

Operation is subject to the following two

conditions: (1) This device may not cause

harmful interference, and (2) This device

must accept any interference received,

including interference that may cause

undesired operation.

Note: Changes or modifications not

expressively approved by the party

responsible for compliance could void the

user's authority to operate the equipment.

The term IC before the radio certification

number only signifies that Industry Canada

technical specifications were met.

The typical operating range for your

transmitter is approximately 33 ft (10 m).

Vehicles with the remote start feature will

have a greater range.

One of the following could cause a

decrease in operating range:

• Weather conditions.

• Nearby radio towers.

• Structures around the vehicle.

• Other vehicles parked next to your

vehicle.

The radio frequency used by your remote

control can also be used by other radio

transmitters, for example amateur radios,

medical equipment, wireless headphones,

wireless remote controls, cell phones,

battery chargers and ala

rm systems. If the

frequencies are jammed, you will not be

able to use your remote control. You can

lock and unlock the doors with the key.

Note: Make sure to lock your vehicle before

leaving it unattended.

Note: If you are in range, the remote control

will operate if you press any button

unintentionally.

Keys and Remote Controls Replacing the Battery Note: Refer to local regulations when disposing of transmitter batteries. Note: Do not wipe off any grease on the battery terminals or on the back surface of the circuit board. E191533 1. Insert a screwdriver in the position shown and gently push the clip. 2. Press the clip down to release the battery cover. Note: Replacing the battery does not delete the transmitter from the vehicle. The transmitter should operate normally.

Remove the battery. 6. Install a new battery with the + facing up. 7. Replace the battery cover. Memory Feature (If Equipped) You can use the remote control to recall memory settings for the driver seat, power mirrors, steering column and power foot pedals.

Keys and Remote Controls Press the unlock button on a linked remote control to recall the memory positions. If you enable the easy-entry-and-exit feature, the seat moves to the easy-entry position. The seat moves to the driver memory position when you put the key in the ignition.

Wheels and Tires TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING The tire pressure monitoring system is not a substitute for manually checking tire pressure. The tire pressure should be checked periodically (at least monthly) using a tire gauge, see Inflating your tires in this chapter. Failure to properly maintain your tire pressure could increase the risk of tire failure, loss of control, vehicle rollover and personal injury.

Wheels and Tires illuminates, you should stop and check your tires as soon as possible, and inflate them to the proper pressure. Driving on a significantly under-inflated tire causes the tire to overheat and can lead to tire failure. Under-inflation also reduces fuel efficiency and tire tread life, and may affect the vehicle’s handling and stopping ability.

Wheels and Tires Understanding Your Tire Pressure Monitoring System When Your Temporary Spare Tire is Installed The tire pressure monitoring system measures pressure in your four road tires and sends the tire pressure readings to your vehicle. The low tire pressure warning light will turn on if the tire pressure is significantly low. Once the light is illuminated, your tires are under-inflated and need to be inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended tire pressure.

After inflating your tires to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure as shown on the Tire Label (located on the edge of driver’s door or the B-Pillar), the vehicle must be driven for at least two minutes over 20 mph (32 km/h) before the light turns off.
