A. The training is provided as a lecture with extensive question and answers.
Training also includes hands on demonstrations. The class normally takes
approximately 4 hours and the class size is limited. The training material
previously submitted is presented to the class in its entirety. As shown, this
material includes information pertaining to controlling exposure limits. This
material and the Operating Manual is provided to each attendee. The Operating
Manual is also provided with the equipment.
B. Manual has been revised. See section 1.0
C. The Model 1240 is not part of this filing. RF energy substituted for
electronic energy.
D. For covert surveillance applications, the microphone/earpiece assembly
allows the unit to be hidden from sight, i.e. clipped on a belt or placed inside
another object such as a backpack, and the earpiece used to monitor reception.
The earpiece disables the internal speaker so others can not overhear radio
traffic. Typically, when used in this mode of operation, the transmit
capability of the radio is not used. Section 2.3 has be modified.
