Setting Up Your Monitor SENSOR PAD (See figs. 1 and 2) Place the Sensor Pad under the center of the crib mattress with the colored side facing up. Do not place any loose bedding or linen between the crib mattress and the Sensor Pad. The Sensor Pad must rest on a flat, firm surface. If your crib has a spring or slat base, place a piece of Masonite board under the Sensor Pad. This support must measure at least 13 inches long on all four sides and 1/4 inch thick.
Testing Your Monitor Always test your monitor before using it the first time and then on a periodic basis. Before testing your monitor, complete the setup process as described above. TESTING THE MOVEMENT FUNCTION Note: Make Sure your Sensor Pad is set up before proceeding with this section. If you haven't set up your Sensor Pad please go to page 5 for instructions on how to properly set up the Sensor Pad. Make sure the Sensor Pad's cord is plugged into the Nursery Unit.
TESTING THE SOUND FUNCTION Switch the Nursery Unit to "Sound Only". Turn the Parents Unit ON and select either channel A, B or C. Make sure it is set to the same channel as the Nursery Unit. The green power indicator LED will light up. Choose the channel that gives you the best reception. Test the sound: have someone else speak into the Nursery Unit or place a radio near the Nursery Unit. You should hear sound from the Parents Unit. If there is no sound, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
Special features Out of range indicator Your monitor is equipped with an optional “Out of range” indicator function, which will advise you when the two units are not communicating with each other. Out of range situations can be caused by distance or by physical interferences. Range: up to 820 ft (250 meters). To activate this function, press and hold the night light button on the Nursery Unit for 2 seconds.
Tips For Using Your Monitor • When the monitor is in use, do not use a crib mobile or other crib accessories that may produce vibrations. Other sources of vibrations may include fans, washing machines, loud music, etc. These sources of vibration may interfere with the performance of your Angelcare® monitor and the alarm will not sound if it continues to detect any movement. Be sure all vibration sources are eliminated before using the monitor. • There are several reasons you may experience false alarms.
