ALZO Drum Ceiling Light Installation Guide

Included in the kit:

1 – DRUM DIFFUSER

2 – 4 FLAGS

3 – SOCKET ASSEMBLY

4 – CONNECT PIN

5 – MOUNT

6 – TOP BARS

An extension cord is required to connect the light to a wall outlet.

The length of this extension cord will vary and 3 wire 18 gage

cords are recommended.

STEP 1: ASSEMBLE THE SOCKET

Screw the connect pin (4) into the top of the socket assembly (3)

and hand tighten. Put the 2 pieces of the top bars (6) together

(Velcro up), align the holes and place over the screw on the

connect pin. Screw the mount on the connect pin until just tight

and then back off ¼ turn so that the top bars can spin with some

friction.

STEP 2: ATTACH TO SUSPENDED CEILING

If you are attaching the light to a suspended ceiling you will need

the accessory ALZO X-CLAMP KIT. Attach the X-CLAMP (sold

as an accessory) with the pin down on a frame bar where you

want the center of the light. The Drum ceiling light can also be

supported by a boom as well. If you are attaching to a drywall or

wood ceiling, ALZO has screw mount plates as well.

The accessory X-clamp kit includes a T-BAR HOOK that is used

to support the power cord where it will connect to an extension

cord. You may want to position the T-BAR HOOK near the outer

edge of the drum to prevent the power cord from touching the

drum. Additional T-BAR HOOKs can be purchased and installed

to dress the extension cord to the ceiling for longer runs.

STEP 3: ATTACH THE DIFFUSER First remove the diffuser from the jacket and holding one of the metal frames gently coax it open. Be careful to assure that there is plenty of room around you as the diffuser will open with a pop and can damage furniture. Hold together the metal rings on the edge of the diffuser in the position where the zippered opening is facing up. Open the zipper completely 180 degrees.

STEP 4: INSTALL BULBS With the diffuser open install the light bulbs in the order of 1-3-24. Do not over tighten the bulbs. The metal tabs should support the bulb base and over time the tabs may be slightly bent. Adjust the tabs to touch the base of the bulbs when the bulbs are fully screwed into the sockets Attach the power cord to an extension cord and use the second X-Clamp to dress the cord to the ceiling to prevent the cord from touching the diffuser.
