Motion Sensor
The PIR-101 is a intended for walls and has a detection range
of 90 degrees. The motion detector uses infrared technology
to detect moving bodies of heat. When on, the pet immunity
setting can endure animals up to 55 pounds. The sensor will
also send a signal when the contact sensor cover is tampered
or when the test button on the side is pressed.
Adding Sensor to the Panel
To add a PIR-101 to the panel, set your panel to sensor
learning mode, tamper the sensor by pressing the test button
found on the side of the sensor.
Installation
Corners are the best place to install motion sensors, but
they can also be installed on a wall. Place motion sensors 6
to 8 feet above the floor.
You can use the adhesives to mount a motion sensor in a
corner or on the wall. For all sensors, make sure the
surface is clean and dry for good adherence.
After removing the backing from the adhesive and placing
the sensor in its location, press firmly and hold it in place
for 30 seconds.
Testing
To test a PIR-101 go to test mode on your panel and ensure
the panel volume is loud enough to hear. Next, move in
front of the motion detector. Listen for the appropriate
verification sounds (see panel instructions for more details).
When you are finished, Exit test mode.
Battery Installation/Replacement
To change the motion sensor batteries, press up on the
button on the bottom of the sensor and pull the case toward
you. The motion sensor requires one CR17345. Replace the
battery and snap the case cover back on the sensor.
