Architects' And Engineers' Specifications
At each master switchboard location, contractor shall furnish and
install one Alpha Communications® / Elvox model 945B (8-digit)
DigiBus™ Master Switchboard station, or approved equal, and
associated (6941, 6942, 6948) power supplies. Master station shall
be desk mount type, molded Black ABS plastic, and shall have
LCD display, door release button/switch, Day/Night
operation switch, call transfer, call conference, call memory
scroll and privacy handset. At each remote location,
contractor shall furnish and install one (1) model 6204 (or
equivalent) handset (with or without the optional video
monitor station). Each handset shall include its own unique 8-
digit coding and decoding microcontroller. Handsets shall be Soft
White color and shall mount right to wall or standard single gang
electrical 'gem' box. Wiring to handset shall be 4-common wires
(looped) per handset. Each remote handset shall have two (2)
auxiliary alarm inputs, which upon momentary 'dry' contact
activation, shall send an alarm signal to the model 945B master
(concierge) station.
Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.
945B (8-Digit) DigiBus™ Desktop Master Switchboard
The Alpha Communications® / Elvox 945B is a Master Switchboard
for the 8-Digit DigiBus™ system. It can be used in Luxury
Apartment Buildings, Assisted Living Facilities, Dormitories, Health
Care Facilities, Hotels, Motels, Schools, Offices, Bowling Alleys
and Supermarkets. The 945B provides conversation with
remote handset stations as well as door entry station(s).
LCD readout annunciates both incoming and outgoing calls, F1 and
F2 emergency/alarm signals by apt. code. Call signalling is by
pleasant electronic tone. The 945B also has provisions for
Day/Night operation with part time doorman/concierge/ guard by
switching conversation to entry station(s). This station is ideal for
large building units because many installation problems have been
solved by eliminating the use of switching modules, and its large
capacity of 99,999,999 remote handsets.

System Components
Switchboard: Model 945B. Switchboard with LCD display, door
release button/switch, Day/Night operation switch, Call transfer,
call conference, call memory scroll and privacy
handset. Dimensions 12.25"W (310mm) x 9.25"D (235mm) x
4.75"H (120mm).
Power Supplies: Model 6941. Use for up to 200 remote handsets
with decoder, 50 digital distributors, 2 entry panels or 1 entry
panel and 1 switchboard. Equipped with frequencymodulated
electronic call circuit, call exclusion on activation of phonic line,
entry panel and handset "power-on" indicator led, "door lock
release control" indicator led, "phonic line" indicator led, indicator
LEDs for auxiliary functions 1 and 2 and relay connection outputs
for auxiliary functions. Dimensions with covers inserted: 8.20"W
(208mm) x 5.30"H (135mm) x 2.85"D (72mm). Model 6942
additional power supply. Use for installations with more than 200
remote handsets (one unit required for approx. every 200
additional users). Same dimensions as model 6941.
