Stromanschluss im Auto: Verbinden Sie das rote Kabel des Stromversorgungskabels mit dem Pluspol der Stromversorgung (also eine Stelle in der Fahrzeugverdrahtung, wo möglichst dauernd 12 V anliegen) und das schwarze Kabel mit dem Minuspol. Wir empfehlen dringend, wo immer möglich, das Funkgerät direkt an die Fahrzeugbatterie anzuschließen.
Radios, Kühlboxen oder Kaffeemaschinen entstört, dies reicht aber sehr oft nicht für ungestörten CB-Empfang aus, weil CB Funkgeräte hochempfindliche Empfänger haben. Für einwandfreien CB-Empfang bei Betrieb mit Schaltwandlern und in Fahrzeugen mit Bordrechnern können wir keine Gewähr übernehmen. Probleme lassen sich nicht in allen Fällen ohne Ausprobieren ausschließen.

Albrecht-Gerätepass Für Ihr AE 4200 R gelten folgende Programmierungs- und Benutzungsregeln (Angaben ohne Gewähr, Stand Mai 2010) in den Ländern, die die R&TTE Direktive anwenden: Land Programmierung Anmelde- und Gebührenpflicht Betreiben der Funkanlagen mit Anmeldepflicht bzw. Einschränkungen Italien 40 FM oder 40/40 Anmeldung für alle CB-Geräte erforderlich, 40 FM ist für Durchreisende jedoch erlaubt. Österreich 40 FM Funkgeräte mit Länderschaltern sind in Österreich nicht erwünscht. Ggf.
Hinweise zur Entsorgung von Elektronikschrott Die neue europäische WEEE Direktive regelt das Entsorgen und das Recycling von Elektro- und Elektronikschrott. Damit das von der Industrie finanzierte Entsorgungssystem funktioniert, sollten Sie- wenn einmal Ihr AE 4200 R entsorgt werden sollte (was wir nicht hoffen wollen!) - Ihr Gerät nicht in die Haushaltsmülltonne werfen, sondern bei den kommunalen Sammelstellen abgeben.
Länder-Programmierung durchführen Ihr Funkgerät lässt sich im jederzeit zwischen 3 verschiedenen Länderversionen umschalten. Zum Umschalten werden eine der Auf- Ab Tasten bzw. beide Tasten gedrückt und festgehalten, während man das Gerät einschaltet. Danach lässt man die Taste(n) wieder los. Die Ländeprogrammierung bleibt erhalten, bis Sie eine andere Programmierung durchführen und geht auch bei Stromunterbrechung nicht verloren.
Empfang mit dem AE 4200 R Einschalten / Lautstärke einstellen Der Ein- und Ausschalter ist mit Einschalten: dem Lautstärkeregler VOLUME kombiniert. Zum ! Regler VOLUME aus Stellung OFF etwas nach rechts drehen. Das Display und die Tasten werden beleuchtet. Dann die gewünschte Lautstärke einstellen. Kanal einstellen ! Mit den Kanalwahltasten ( Aufwärts- und Abwärts-Tasten) auf der rechten Seite der Frontplatte stellen Sie den gewünschten Kanal ein. Der aktuelle Kanal wird auf dem Display angezeigt.
Wahl der Modulationsart: AM oder FM ? Der traditionelle CB-Funk begann in den USA mit 23 Kanälen und der klassischen Modulationsart AM, wie es im Amateurfunk, Seefunk und bei kommerziellen Stationen in den 50er Jahren üblich war. Heute findet man AM noch im Mittelwellen-, Kurzwellenrundfunk und beim Flugfunk. Im kommerziellen Funk findet man heute nur noch FM und bei KurzwellenWeitverkehr SSB (Einseitenband-AM).
Haben Sie sich einen Kanal ausgesucht, auf dem Sie mit einem Partner ein Funkgespräch starten wollen, hören Sie erst mal eine Weile "in den Kanal hinein", ob er überhaupt frei ist! Oder Sie fragen einfach, ob der Kanal frei ist! Mit der grossen Sendetaste seitlich am Mikrofon (auch PTT-Taste genannt von Push-ToTalk) schalten Sie zwischen Empfangen und Senden um: ! PTT-Taste drücken, um zu senden. Die TX- LED auf der Frontseite leuchtet rot auf. ! Taste wieder loslassen, um auf Empfang zurückzuschalten.

Safety Precautions People with pacemakers are recommended as a precaution to consult their doctor before operating the CB radio. Not all types of pacemakers are sufficiently protected from radiation from a nearby transmitter, so do not assume it is safe to start operation without checking! Please remember that you are in the immediate vicinity of a transmitting aerial, particularly when used as a mobile.
Installation of the radio You can either operate your ALBRECHT AE 4200 R in the car or at home as a base station. For installation as a mobile station in the car, a mobile mount device is enclosed. Mount the set in such a way that it is not exposed to direct sunlight if possible, as this would lead to an increase in the temperature and can decrease the (set’s) working life. The set should also not be installed near a heater. Mount the set in such a way that it is exposed to as little vibration as possible.
Example 2 The set should be automatically switched on and off with the ignition switch of the car. The radio shall always start in last used mode on the last used channel. Attach the red wire to a part of the vehicle electrical system which is interconnected to the ignition. Connect the black wire to the negative pole on the battery or the vehicle body. Note for all connecting methods: For EMC reasons, the cable used to connect to the power supply should be no longer than 3 metres.

Problems may be caused through missing ground, especially in boats and motor homes with fiber glass body. For these cases, Albrecht offers a special connecting cable with matching box as “artificial ground” (AKM 27), or ground less antennas like GL 27. Some antennas, like “Gamma II” (order No. 6725) are broadbanded and do not need any retuning during installations.
Switching to 80/40 channel system (Germany and CZ/SK only) 80/40 This position is only allowed to be used in Germany and CZ / SK, because no other European country provides the German 80 FM channels. (Note: In Czech Republic please use only FM and in Slovak Republic use only FM on ch 1-40 & 70-80) No individual licence is necessary, but restrictions are still in force in certain German border regions, where transmitting on channels 41 – 80 is not allowed or only with a special licence.

Adjusting squelch (muting) Particularly in FM, noise can be a nuisance on a free channel. With the muting control (SQUELCH) You can suppress this noise - but also signals which are too weak to be received properly.
To call other stations, who you know are listening in on channel 9, you can also use this channel. Call up the desired station on channel 9. As soon as contact has been made, agree on a free channel for your conversation and then channel 9 will be free again for other calls. An emergency channel can of course only work if as many stations as possible are listening in.
External sockets External loudspeaker Depending on the surrounding noise, it can be advisable to hook up an external loudspeaker. Usual commercial radio loudspeakers with 4-8 ohms impedance and 24 W minimum output can be plugged in. The cable can be up to 3 metres long. For car loudspeakers, make sure to use a twopin 3.5 mm jack plug and ensure that none of the loudspeaker connections are attached to the vehicle chassis.
