1. CAMERA BASIC INFORMATION The Airtraq Camera has been specially designed to work as an accessory for the Airtraq Video Laryngoscope. It should be mounted on top of the Airtraq after removing the eyecup. The Camera provides full color, real‐time images when using the Airtraq to intubate. It can be connected to the Airtraq Wireless Display Recorder or to any other external medical grade monitor which has a composite (RCA) video input. The Camera automatically transmits images by Radiofrequency at 5.
3. CAMERA SWITCHES, INDICATORS AND CONNECTORS A. Power Button: Push to turn On and Off. B. Power indicator: Turns green when the camera is switched ON. C. Battery Charge Indicator: Turns red when the camera batteries are below 10% of its capacity. The camera will still operate for approximately 20 minutes. D. Frequency Channel Selector: To be used in conjunction with the Wireless Display Recorder. Both devices should be set to the same frequency channel.
4. CAMERA BATTERY CHARGE USING STAND ALONE BATTERY CHARGER The camera DOES NOT WORK WHEN IT IS BEING CHARGED. 1. Connect the stand‐alone battery charger to the electrical supply with protective earth. 2. Insert the connector into the camera. Upon connecting the camera to the charger the camera will automatically turn OFF and the Battery charge indicator of the Camera (C) green LED will start blinking. Recharging the battery takes approximately 2 hours.
5. MOUNTING THE CAMERA ONTO THE AIRTRAQ To mount the Camera, remove the eyecup and clip the Camera to the top of the Airtraq. Hold the Airtraq like in the drawing below. Once the intubation is finished remove the Camera from the Airtraq by clipping off and pulling it away.
6. VIEWING ON AN EXTERNAL MEDICAL GRADE MONITOR 1. Connect the video cable to the Camera Video Out connector. 2. Connect the Composite (RCA) connector to the external monitor Video IN connector. Some monitors may require the RCA/ BNC adaptor. 3. Switch the Camera ON. To display the Camera image you may also have to switch the video input channel of the external monitor. 4. Do not forget to switch ON the Airtraq. 7. RECORDING ON AN EXTERNAL MEDICAL GRADE RECORDER 1.
To charge the batteries of the AWDR and Camera connect to an AC electrical supply with protective earth, turn on the main power supply switch and insert the camera into its docking station. The AWDR has a hole pattern on its base that fits any mounting device for VESA 75/75 standard whether for wall mounts, desktop or ceiling mounts. 9. AWDR COMPONENTS 9.1 Wireless Display Recorder ‐ Wireless 5.8 GHz receiver. ‐ LCD Monitor 5.6 inches. ‐ Recording Module and SD card (already installed).
.7 RCA / BNC Adaptor Adaptor needed, in case of using an additional external monitor, to connect the video cable to most monitors found in Operating Theaters. 10. AWDR SWITCHES, INDICATORS AND JACKS 1. AC Power supply jack: 3 pin male jack located on the back of the device. 2. Main Power switch: Located on the back of the device. Must be turned on to start battery charge of AWDR and Camera. 3. Power Button: Turns on and off the AWDR. 4. Power indicator: Turns green when the AWDR is switch on. 5.
6. Camera Battery charge bars: Indicate the charge status of the Camera. The Camera will still operate for approximately 20 to 30 minutes from the time that the batteries are below 20% of its capacity. 7. Frequency Selector: To be used in conjunction with the Camera. Both devices should be set to the same frequency channel. Please push the button to select the channel that provides the best signal depending on your particular location. 8.
. AWDR BATTERY CHARGE Connect the AWDR to the electrical supply with protective earth (1). Turn ON main switch (2) located on the back. The AWDR battery will automatically start charging its battery. The AWDR battery charge bars (5) will start blinking and will show the battery charge level. Once the AWDR is fully charged the battery charge bars (5) will stop blinking. When the AWDR battery starts charging an internal fan is automatically activated. It may cause a little noise.
. CAMERA BATTERY CHARGE USING AWDR DOCKING STATION Connect the AWDR to the electrical supply with protective earth (1). Turn ON main switch (2) located on the back. Insert the camera on its docking station. Do not force the Camera in the docking station, but make sure to push it down, so that the battery charge jack (17) is well connected. The camera will automatically start charging its battery.
Please Note: When the camera is recharging using AWDR docking station, it is not possible to use a secondary camera with that AWDR during the charging period. 13. AWDR SETTINGS The user can set in the AWDR the following parameters: 1. Date and Time 2. Language Date and time are preset at the factory in format YY/MM/DD. Language is preset at the factory to English. To change factory settings press the Play Menu Button (13).
When Set Language is selected, the AWDR will show the following screen: Composite refers to the video system used in each country (PAL or NTSC). The AWDR adjust this parameter automatically. Therefore, the user should not change it. 14. VIEWING ON THE AWDR WIRELESS The AWDR can work either on its own rechargeable battery or connected to an AC electrical supply with protective earth. 1. Lift the screen and tilt to the desired position. 2. Push the power button (3) to turn ON the AWDR.
Viewing simultaneously on another external medical grade monitor 1. Connect the video cable for external monitor (the cable with two yellow connectors) to the AWDR Video Out jack (19) located on the back of the device and to the Video In jack of the external Monitor. Some external monitors may require the RCA/BCN adaptor. 2. Select AV composite video input in the external monitor. 3. Images will be shown in both monitors. 15.
To begin recording push the Recording Start Button (10). To finalize recording push the Recording Stop Button (12). Each time the Recording Start Button (10) is pressed a new video file is created. File names are given automatically. Videos are identified in the AWDR by date and time of recording. Each minute of video recorded uses around 7 Mb of memory. It means that the SD card provided can hold around 280 minutes of recording. In case the SD becomes full the Recording Indicator (11) will start blinking.

The AWDR will show the first frame of the selected video. Press again the OK button (15) and the video will start playing. To pause viewing, press the Ok button (15). Videos can be played at different speeds (2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X). To change viewing speed, press the forward navigation button (16).
3. Cleaning: Use clean cotton gauze pads that are saturated with the cleaning solution to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the AWDR and the Airtraq Camera. Use soft brushes with the cleaning solution to remove any residues from areas that cannot be reached with the gauze pads. Be sure to remove all visible contaminant or foreign matter. Be careful to keep running liquid off the surfaces. The following cleaning solutions may be used: a. Enzymatic Cleaning Solutions (e.g.: ENZOLTM Enzymatic Detergent). b.
