iii Special notes on LCD monitors The following are normal with the LCD monitor and do not indicate a problem. Due to the nature of the fluorescent light, the screen may flicker during • initial use. Turn off the power switch and then turn it on again to make sure the flicker disappears. • You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on the desktop pattern you use. • The LCD screen has 99.99% or more effective pixels.
iv Accessibility Be sure that the power outlet you plug the power cord into is easily accessible and located as close to the equipment operator as possible. When you need to disconnect power from the equipment, be sure to unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Safe listening To protect your hearing, follow these instructions. Gradually increase the volume until you can hear it clearly and comfortably • and without distortion.

Also, make sure that the total rating of all products plugged into the wall outlet does not exceed the fuse rating. Do not overload a power outlet, strip or receptacle by plugging in too many devices. The overall system load must not exceed 80% of the branch circuit rating. If power strips are used, the load should not exceed 80% of the power strip's input rating.
vi Note: Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions, since improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to normal condition. Potentially explosive environments Switch off your device in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere and obey all signs and instructions.

viii This product has been shipped enabled for power management: • • Activate the Display Sleep mode within 5 minutes of user inactivity. Wake the monitor when it is in Active Off mode, move the mouse or press any keyboard key. Tips and information for comfortable use Computer users may complain of eyestrain and headaches after prolonged use. Users are also at risk of physical injury after long hours of working in front of a computer.
ix Taking care of your vision Long viewing hours, wearing incorrect glasses or contact lenses, glare, excessive room lighting, poorly focused screens, very small typefaces and low-contrast displays could stress your eyes. The following sections provide suggestions on how to reduce eyestrain. Eyes • • • Rest your eyes frequently. Give your eyes regular breaks by looking away from the monitor and focusing on a distant point. Blink frequently to keep your eyes from drying out.

UNPACKING Please check the following items are present when you unpack the box, and save the packing materials in case you will need to ship or transport the monitor in future.
ATTACHING / REMOVING THE BASE Note: Remove the monitor and monitor base from its packaging. Carefully place the monitor face-down on a stable surface -- use a cloth to avoid scratching the screen. 1. Attach the stand arm and the base to the monitor, as illustrated. 2. Ensure that the base is screwed tight onto the monitor stand arm. Note: If installing with a wall mounting kit, it is recommended to use VESA mounting kit (100mm x 100mm) with M4 x 10 (L) mm screws to fix your monitor on the wall.
SCREEN POSITION ADJUSTMENT In order to optimize the best viewing position, you can adjust the height/tilt of the monitor. • Tilt Please see the illustration below for an example of the tilt range. Only at the highest point can 25 degrees of recline be offered for the angle of elevation. 5° r • Height Adjustment After pressing the top of the monitor then you can adjust the height of the monitor.
• Monitor Pivot Before rotating the display, lift it to the top position and then push it back to the utmost degree. Rotate until the monitor stops at 90°. o o PP • Swivel With the built-in pedestal, you can swivel the monitor for the most comfortable viewing angle.
CONNECTING THE POWER CORD Check first to make sure that the power cord you use is the correct type required for your area. This monitor has a universal power supply that allows operation in either 100/120V AC or 220/240 V AC voltage area. No user-adjustment is required. Plug one end of the power cord to the AC inlet, and plug the other end into an AC outlet. For unit using at 120 V AC: Use a UL Listed Cord Set, Type SVT wire and plug rated 10 A/125 V.
POWER SAVING The monitor will be driven into “Power Saving” mode by the control signal from the display controller, as indicated by the blinking amber power LED. The recovery time from Active OFF state back to ON state is around 3 seconds.

INSTALLATION To install the monitor to your host system, please follow the steps as given below: Steps 1. 1-1 Connect HDMI Cable (Only HDMI-input model) a. Make sure both the monitor and computer are powered-OFF. b. Connect the HDMI cable to the computer. 1-2 Connect DP Cable (Only DP-input model) a. Make sure both the monitor and computer are powered-OFF. b. Connect the DP cable to the computer. 2. Insert the monitor power cable into the power port at the back of the monitor. 3.

Adjusting the OSD settings Note: The following content is for general reference only. Actual product specifications may vary. Note: This product qualifies for ENERGY STAR in the “factory default” setting and this is the setting in which power savings will be achieved. Changing the factory default picture settings or enabling other features will increase power consumption that could exceed the limits necessary to qualify for ENERGY STAR rating.
Adjusting the Modes From any function page, press to open the Modes control and select which user-defined profile to use (please see The Function page section for more information). Adjusting the Brightness Open the Brightness control and select the brightness setting using the Navi/ OK button. When you are done, press the Navi/OK button to exit. Selecting the Input Open the Input control and select the desired input. You can also toggle Auto Source On or Off.
The Function page Open the Function page to select a menu function, and adjust the settings which you want using the Navi/OK button. When you are done, press to exit. You can also press from any function page to select your preferred Mode. Adjusting the Picture 1. Press the MENU button to open the OSD. 2. Using the Navi/OK button, select Picture from the OSD. Then navigate to the setting you wish to change. 3. Use the Navi/OK button to select the setting. 4.
7. Black Boost: This boosts the amplitude of the dark color levels of the display– blacks will be less black. The higher the level, the higher the boost. 8. ACM: Turn ACM On or Off. The default is Off. 9. Super Sharpness technology can simulate high-resolution images by boosting the pixel density of the original source. It can make images sharper and clear. Adjusting the Color 1. Press the MENU button to open the OSD. 2. Using the Navi/OK button, select Color from the OSD.
5. Color temperature: Default is warm. You can choose Cool, Warm, Normal, Bluelight or User. 6. Uniformity: Turn the Uniformity function On or Off. 7. Modes: Select your preferred mode. 8. Color Space: You can choose General, SMPTE-C, EBU, Rec. 709, DCI-P3, sRGB or AdobeRGB. Note: 1. If Color Space is “DCI-P3”, “sRGB” or “AdobeRGB”, then Modes is respectively set to “DCI-P3”, “sRGB” or “AdobeRGB” automatically. 2. If Color Space is not “DCI-P3”, “sRGB” or “AdobeRGB”, then Modes is set to “Standard”.
Adjusting the Audio 1. Press the MENU button to open the OSD. 2. Using the Navi/OK button, select Audio from the OSD. Then navigate to the setting you wish to change. 3. Use the Navi/OK button to select the setting. 4. Volume: Adjust the volume. 5. Mute: Select On or Off.
Adjusting the Performance 1. Press the MENU button to open the OSD. 2. Using the Navi/OK button, select Performance from the OSD. Then navigate to the setting you wish to change. 3. Use the Navi/OK button to select the setting. 4. Over Drive: Select Off, Normal, or Extreme. 5. Adaptive-Sync: Select On or Off. Adaptive-Sync is available for AMD supported graphic cards only. 6. Refresh rate num: Display the panel’s current refresh rate on the screen. 7.
8. Ultra-Low Latency: Select On to speed up the processing time of the display switching process. Note: 1. If Adaptive-Sync is “ON”, then the Ultra-Low Latency is automatically turned On and grayed out. 2. Ultra-Low Latency is not supported at resolutions below 800 x 600. Adjusting the OSD 1. Press the MENU button to open the OSD. 2. Using the Navi/OK button, select OSD from the OSD. Then navigate to the setting you wish to change. 3. Use the Navi/OK button to select the setting. 4.
Adjusting the System 1. Press the MENU button to open the OSD. 2. Using the Navi/OK button, select System from the OSD. Then navigate to the setting you wish to adjust. 3. Use the Navi/OK button to select the setting. 4. Input: Select the source from an available input source. 5. Auto Source: Automatically searches for available input sources. 6. DP Format: You can select which DP format you are using. The default is set at DP1.2. 7.
10. HDMI Black Level: You can select the level of blackness under HDMI source. The options are Normal and Low. 11. Quick Start Mode: Enable monitor rapidly. 12. LED Control: Adjust the brightness of the LED light. 13. Power-off USB charge (Optional): Turn On or Off. Product information 1. From any function page, press to open Information page. 2. Reset All Settings: Reset all settings to the factory defaults.
TROUBLESHOOTING Before sending your LCD monitor for servicing, please check the troubleshooting list below to see if you can self-diagnose the problem.
