Basic connections Connecting the power cord 2 English 1 Connect the AC cord to the AC input on the back of the TV. Connect the plug to the wall outlet as shown. A certified power cord that meets your country's legal requirements must be used with this TV. You may also use an ordinary polyvinyl cord that meets IEC 60227 requirements or a synthetic rubber cord that meets IEC 60245 requirements. Connecting external audio/video devices English Connecting a DVD, VCR, STB or audio/video equipment Connect your DVD player, VCR or audio/video equipment using the AV port located at the rear of your TV as shown below.

Selecting the input source Once you have connected your antenna or external equipment to the TV, you need to select the correct input source. English Press the INPUT button on the remote control to select the correct input source.
OSD navigation Many of the advanced settings and adjustments are available through using the OSD (onscreen display) menus, as shown in the example screenshot below. English Basic operations required to navigate these menus (Picture, Audio, Time, Setup, Lock and Channel) are described in this section. Navigating the OSD with the remote control MENU OK You can also interact with these menus using the right panel controls. Please see "Front panel view" on page 6 for details. There are six main OSD menus.
Adjusting the OSD settings The OSD can be used for adjusting the settings of your TV. English Press the Menu key to open the OSD. You can use the OSD to adjust the picture quality, audio settings, channel settings and general settings. For advanced settings, please refer to following page: Adjusting the picture quality 1 Press the Menu key to bring up the OSD. 2 Using the directional keys, select Picture from the OSD. Then navigate to the picture element you wish to adjust.
Adjusting the Lock settings 1 Press the Menu key to bring up the OSD. Using the directional keys, select Lock from the OSD. Enter your password, then navigate to the feature you wish to adjust. 3 The Lock menu can be used to adjust the Change Password, System Lock, Unrated Lock, Input Block and other important settings. Favorite channel mode in TV mode Favorite channel allows you to store your favorite TV channels and flick between them at the touch of a button. OK This function prevents sudden changes in the audio output level. If this function is selected as On, volume levels will be consistent when switching between input sources and changing channels. 3 4 Press the Menu key from the remote control hand set, to invoke the OSD. EXIT Press EXIT to exit.
Auto scan for channels The first time you completed the setup wizard, all available channels were listed. If you need to re-scan for new channels, please follow the steps below: English MENU OK Scanning for channels 1 MENU 2 3 Press the MENU key on the remote control to bring up the OSD. Use the directional keys to navigate and select OK Channel. Highlight Auto Scan. Then, select Scan all channels and press the Right arrow key to begin. 4 5 EXIT Press EXIT to exit.
Locking TV content English Locking TV content is a handy feature that can block all TV sources. Locking TV content allows you to control who has access to the TV with a simple password. MENU OK To enable this feature: Setting a password MENU 1 Press the MENU key on the remote control to bring up the OSD. Using the directional keys, navigate to and select Lock from the OSD. Then, navigate to the Enter Password menu and enter the password (see note).
TV ratings Most TV allows you to block content according to rating systems. The rating system available is dependent on region. English TV Parental Guidelines You can block TV programs depending on their rating. This function allows you to control what your children are watching. • TV-Y: Young children / TV-Y7: Children 7 and over / TV-G: General audience / TV-PG: Parental guidance / TV-14: Viewers 14 and over / TV-MA: Mature audience • ALL: Lock all TV ratings.
RECALL FAV VOL CH Setting or changing the ratings English MENU OK CC DOT To set or change your TV ratings settings: Navigate to the channel you wish to manage and make sure that the channel is unlocked. 1 2 MENU Press the MENU key on the remote control to bring up the OSD. Using the directional keys, navigate to and select the OSD. Navigate to the Enter Password menu. 3 Enter your Password. Then, select US or Canada and using the directional keys, enter the sub-menu and set the age rating.
RECALL FAV Channel list Channel list allows you to quickly find the TV channel you are searching for. VOL CH English OK CC DOT To open the channel list feature: 1 OK Press the OK key on the remote control. This will bring up the channel list menu. 2 The current channel will be highlighted. 3 Use the directional keys to navigate the list and select the channel you wish to watch. MENU 4 OK Press OK to confirm.
Widescreen display mode Your Acer TV has a special widescreen mode that allows you to toggle between Normal, Full, Zoom, and Cinema type views. English Press the WIDE key on the remote control to cycle the display between the four wide modes. WIDE Normal For 4:3 standard pictures. A side bar appears on each side. Full In this mode, the screen will display 16:9 standard pictures. Zoom In this mode, 4:3 content is changed to 16:9, and 16: 9 content is changed to 14:9.
