Touchscreen Basics Tap Tap the screen once to activate an item. Touch & Hold Touch and hold to move an item by dragging. In many apps, touch and hold can offer more options. Swipe Quickly swipe your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen to move to other home pages or scroll through documents.
